Job Duties:
• Review geotechnical investigations and monitoring data to support mining projects.
• Plan, develop and coordinate engineering studies and field investigation programs according to project needs and client requirements.
• Actively contribute to and perform numerical modelling, analyze results, and effectively communicate results to clients.
• Respond and attend to both internal and external requests in a positive manner, fulfilling the defined scope accurately and within the required timelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project design.
• Prepare, review and correct technical deliverables to ensure their quality meets corporate standards and that they fulfill clients’ requirements.
• Actively participate in business development.
• Assist software developers in improving ITASCA modeling software.
• Promote ITASCA core values of teamwork, professionalism, quality, learning, innovation, fairness and shared responsibility for our business.
• Travel as required to visit client sites, participate in project meetings and attend conferences.
• Understand, support, and abide by all required Health and Safety guidelines and promote the Company health and safety culture.

Skills Required:
• Expertise in rock mechanics for underground mining projects.
• Knowledge of and ability to use geomechanics numerical modelling software, including ITASCA software.
• Experience with conceptual to feasibility level geotechnical design studies for underground mining.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain solid client relationships and develop new business.
• Demonstrated competence in providing professional guidance to and mentoring other staff.
• Experience in analysis and interpretation of microseismic data for geomechanical modelling is a great asset.
• Professional engineering registration in Canada or eligibility to obtain it.

Experience Required:
• 10+ years of relevant experience, working in an operating underground mine or consulting engineering firm.

Education Required:
• A bachelor's degree in geological, geotechnical, mining, civil engineering or in a related discipline is required.

Wage & Hours: based on experience, $120,000 CAD - $200,000 CAD annually
• Number of hours per day: 8
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after: 44
• Shift rotation: On occasion, you may be required to work additional hours during the workweek or weekends.
