Employers / Recruiters:
Q: What is JobSpider.com?
A: JobSpider.com is a free
employment information exchange job board actually modeled from
http://www.craigslist.org. My name is Chris
McGarry and I designed it because I was looking for a network
administrator and it was frustrating to not see an intuitive and
nicely organized free job board. The response has obviously been
overwhelming and my "small project" has blossomed into a
very popular job board that, in many ways, rivals the big boys
(i.e. Monster, HotJobs, etc.).
Q: What is your pricing information? How much does it
cost?
A: JobSpider.com is FREE to
employers and jobseekers. There is no charge to post a resume,
post job(s), search through the resumes, search through the jobs,
or create a job alert.
Q: How can JobSpider.com be free?
A: JobSpider.com is FREE to
employers and jobseekers because I generate revenue
through advertising on the site. The only fee that I will charge
is to bulk import jobs for employers.
Q: How do I post a job or resume?
A: Easy! First select the action
from the links on the left then login (if you have not yet registered
you will need to do so now which is free) and the screens should
be fairly self explanatory after you have logged in. Please let
me know if you are having any problems.
Q: Where do you get your resumes?
A: All of the resumes for
JobSpider.com are entered directly by jobseekers visiting
this site. Other career sites simply import and copy around the
same old resumes from other web sites.
Q: I lost my login and/or password how can I get it
back?
A: You can have this information
emailed to you here.
Q: I love JobSpider.com, how can I support it?
A: There are actually two things
you can do: 1) Continue using JobSpider.com and 2) If you have
a website, please link to JobSpider.com. Here is some easy
"copy and paste" code:

Spider</a>
Q: Can I batch or bulk import jobs into your database
without manually entering each job?
A: Yes, we can accept batch/bulk
job via a few different methods (i.e. ftp, upload, email, etc.). However, I do charge a fee for
this service depending on the number of jobs and frequency of
your batch import. Please click here for more information.
Q: I'm concerned about the legitimacy of a job. What can I
do?
A: These scammers are pretty
tricky and even if you are not concerned I strenuously recommend
reading my "scam awareness" page.
Being educated and aware will lessen your chances to falling
victim to these scammers.
Q: I have posted a resume (or job) on JobSpider.com and
someone has responded to my posting with spam or junk email.
Can't JobSpider.com do something about this?
A: The truth is I do
already. I eliminate about 98% of the spam that gets sent
through the system and I'm working to even improve that
but I am fighting a constant battle. Occasionally you
may receive spam and I recommend just ignoring it.
Q: What are the minimum system requirements for using
JobSpider.com?
A: For best results, I recommend
using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5+, or Netscape
6.02+. However, the minimum Internet browser requirement is
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or Netscape Navigator 4.75. Any
user ADDING, MODIFYING, or DELETING a job, resume, or job alert
must have cookies enabled (used only to temporarily store session
information). Also, browsers must support Javascript and it must
be set "ON". In addition, these Web pages are optimized for and
best viewed with resolution of 1024x768, though any resolution
will work.
Q: Will you post my resume (or job) if I send it to
you?
A: I ask that you post your own
resume (or job) with one exception: If you would like to batch
import multiple jobs into the database (instead of hand posting
each job) I have an assortment of different services I can
provide for a fee. Please inquire for more
information.
Q: I currently use an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) can I post to JobSpider.com through it?
A: Sure, we work with many different employment software systems.
If you don't know if your current ATS provider integrates with us, just ask them.
If it's not integrated your provider will likely contact us to get JobSpider.com added to the list of sites you can post to.
Q: Will the jobs I post be indexed by the big job aggregators like SimplyHired.com?
A: Yes, jobs posted on JobSpider.com are indexed
by SimplyHired, JuJu and all of the major search engines!
Q: How do I modify or delete my job or resume?
A: Click on the link on the upper left that says "My Spider".
Once you login you will see the listing(s) you have posted and can select the action you would like to perform to the right of that listing.
"My Spider" is your control panel of your account.
