Job Description:
Project Engineer is needed to perform the following duties :
• Coordination among all the Parties including Architect, Owner, Sub-contractors and superintendent for flawless execution of project and managing the entire process from initiation to closeout.
• Generating and circulating significant document like RFI, change orders and submittals to all the involved stakeholders, ensuring proper approvals and material purchase. Reporting periodic work progress as per the scheduled timeline, ensuring quality control, communicating site issues in weekly meetings and ensuring their resolution
• Having proper knowledge of site prep and of the process for removing contaminated soil or ground water to reduce major environmental impact.
• Differentiating between hazardous soil removal and non-hazardous soil removal procedures. Following associated safety guidelines.
• Inculcating sustainable Engineering Professional practices.
• Using BIM software’s and innovative mechanization aiding fast work.
• Value engineering for a project. Suggesting sustainable techniques like utilizing locally available materials, reducing carbon footprint of a structure and others.
• Estimating and negotiating bids, along with the labor and material cost calculations according to the scope of the project.
• Collaborating with Estimating and Purchasing in set up of project to insure profitability, client satisfaction and the best subcontractors for the job.
• Verifying all the extra work, overtime charges and prevailing/non-prevailing wages mentioned in subcontractor invoices.
• Having clear understanding of all the stakeholders and their functional responsibilities, and authoritative obligations and deliverables owed towards them.
• Managing the entire project keeping owner’s best benefits in mind.
• Maintaining and developing relationships to reinforce a commitment to excellent customer service across the board including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the design team.
• Comprehending and interpreting Drawings and relevant data accurately.
• Producing CAD drawings, and sketches explaining site issues and maintaining as-built drawing sets on site.
• Understanding the minute details on drawings and verifying the execution on site.
• Ensuring that project will be delivered on-time, within schedule and within budget.
• Supporting in schedule planning on management softwares like MS Project to produce Gannt charts and critical path.
• Checking with the vendors the material availability and lead timings to stay on track with the planned schedule.
• Developing project scope with a viewpoint of getting regional approvals, comprehending responsibilities towards local authoritative municipal bodies which come for site inspections.
• Following site compliances and practicing ethical construction methodologies.
• Comprehend on field liabilities, and record documentation to present as evidence in case of site disputes.
• Understand contractual responsibilities and code compliances.
• To consider all site equipment and material liabilities.
Bachelor’s degree is required in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
