Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care within our facility. The DON will oversee nursing administration, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards while promoting high-quality patient care. This role requires a strong background in nursing home operations, acute care, and a comprehensive understanding of care plans and patient physiology.
Duties
Manage the nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of care.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents.
Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and maintain high standards of care in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and improve service delivery.
Oversee the quality assurance program to monitor and improve nursing practices.
Conduct regular assessments of resident health status and coordinate necessary interventions.
Provide training and development opportunities for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and ensure proper record-keeping.
Skills
Extensive knowledge of nursing home operations, including acute care settings.
Proficient in nursing administration practices and regulatory compliance.
Strong understanding of care planning processes and physiology related to patient health.
Excellent management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
Familiarity with Medicare guidelines and home health or hospice care practices is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff, patients, and families.
Ability to assess complex situations quickly and make informed decisions.
