Job Description:
A Development Engineer is needed in Opelika, Alabama.
• Coordinate product development process including testing and technical support for manu-facturing of hard plastic automotive parts made with composite materials such as Glass Mat Thermoplastics (“GMT”), Expanded Poly Propylene (“EPP”), sheet molding compounds and other compounds.
• Analyze engineering requirements for product development and lead prototype testing.
• Coordinate manufacturing cost calculations after analyzing part development process and production procedures to proper competitive bidding prices.
• Conduct validation tests of products to ensure safety, quality and specifications requested by customers.
• Ensure newly developed products meet customers’ engineering requirements by communi-cating with customers’ development team and meet with engineers from customers to identi-fy needs of changes or improvement in product development process.
• Conduct research in the latest development in the automotive industry for new parts development.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineer-ing.
