Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Technologist to join our R&D team on a full-time permanent basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Analyze data to determine design requirements
• Prepare engineering designs and assembly engineering drawings, using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, ensuring precise specifications for manufacturing processes
• Design tools, jigs, and fixtures for use in blind production
• Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports
• Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including blueprints, cross-sections, and shop drawings for manufacturing and assembly processes
• Develop detailed specifications and standards for product development, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects
• Analyze and replicate complex mechanical components to ensure compatibility with existing systems
• Conduct tests and analyses of components and materials in new product development
• Participate in product training and group meetings, providing valuable insights and updates on design and manufacturing progress, leading to more informed decision-making
• Develop innovative engineering solutions to address complex design challenges, enhancing product performance and customer satisfaction
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CAD software and manufacturing technologies to continuously improve design processes
Compensation & Conditions:
• Permanent, full-time position
• $32.20/ hour for 40 hours per week (equivalent to $67,000 annually)
• Overtime may be required and will be paid at 1.5 of the regular hourly rate after 44 hours per week
• Work Location: 50 Hollinger Road, East York, Ontario M4B 3G5

Job Requirements:
Requirements of Position:
• Completion of a two- or three-year college program in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience as a Mechanical Engineering Design Technologist or in a similar capacity is preferred
• Proficiency in drafting design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor)
• Attention to detail in building mechanical design
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
