Job Description:
Head Start/Early Head Start Family and Health Team Supervisor:
Milton, PA
The CSIU has a full time position providing management of the health, social services and the parent, family and community engagement components of the Head Start and Early Head Start Program. This position will also manage eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance.
This position is based at the CSIU, 90 Lawton Lane, Milton, PA 17847. This will require days to be on-site and also travel to the various Head Start program centers locations throughout Northumberland County. The anticipated start date is March 21, 2024.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Coordinate / Program Evaluation
• Consultation
• Hiring / Evaluation of Support Staff
• Oversee Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (ERSEA) of Head Start / Early Head Start Programs.
Annual salary - $45,000 to $52,000 dependent on experience and education. This position works 7.5 hours per day, 260 days per year and offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Requires a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, health services, education, counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree in one of these areas preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years’ work experience directly related to providing programming to children. Experience working within Head Start, Early Head Start or early childhood work experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have an interest in and concern for children and their families.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff members, children and their families and community representatives and be able to accept cultural diversity.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize the task based on project deadlines. And must be able to type accurately and maintain a high level of productivity.
• Must be willing to learn to operate the machines used for screening purposes. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Excellent oral and written skills are required.
• Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry, email, effective use of the Internet, experience managing file sharing with Google Drive, Google applications, and conducting virtual meetings with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and/or other platforms required.
• Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
• Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
