Job Description: This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following:
Oversee the daily operations of the Glacier Adventure Experience (Ice Explorer, Ice Shuttle, Photo Experts, Bus Wash of approx. 50 employees). Rnsure a memorable and positive experience for our Guests and Staff through implementing and delivering the standard operating policies and procedures as they relate to our service, daily operations, safety and employee engagement standards and practices. This position will focus on leadership and performance management for the Driver Guides, Bus wash and Photo Experts, ensuring delivery on key performance indicators. Active member of the Columbia Icefield Management team, supporting peers & continually working at building a cohesive team which works together to achieve results. Ensure that all service expectations, standards and qualities are being met and exceeded on a continual basis, providing employee coaching and direction as required. Helps their team understand their role in achieving our business strategy that motivates staff to excel Coordinate and oversee the needed training and professional development of all drivers to ensure they are confident and fully trained on all required pieces of equipment in varying seasonal weather and road conditions. Conduct employee reviews; actively seek opportunities to recognize staff on “doing it right” and assist in the creation and adoption of employee recognition program or events. Monitor service metrics daily/weekly during the season, reacting and responding accordingly to address any issues. Provide direct support to Drivers Guides throughout the daily operations relating to pre-trip and post-trip inspections and procedures, safety, switching-out equipment as needed, guest service and delivery of tours to expectations. Oversee employee scheduling, training, employee performance management as well as recognition. To assist in developing annual business plans for the Glacier operations with a focus on succession planning for supervisory positions and trainers/lead hands. To meet the financial expectations set for your specific line of business. Managing costs on a day to day basis to expected business levels, tracking and reporting on labour/expenses incurred. Ensure payroll is completed daily and submitted on time for all payroll periods Ensure that our buses and guest areas in relation to the Glacier Adventure tour are organized, tidy and prepared to meet and exceed guest expectations. Ensure all equipment is managed accordingly and safeguard measures in effect from damage or loss. Act accordingly to all emergency and safety protocols taking on a leadership role as required for any instances that arise. Perform Ice Explorer Driver, Glacier Adventure Shuttle Driver and Transit Shuttle Driver duties and fill in for tours as required.
Job Requirements: Post-secondary education or equivalent in work experience 2 years management experience with proven ability to manage and direct a large team. Strong organizational, communication skills & proven strength in problem solving and ability to make decisions Flexible (ability to work varying hours/days as business needs dictate) (2) or more seasons as an Ice Explorer Driver or Motor coach driver an asset Class 2 License with Q endorsement and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract (required) Must have excellent interpersonal and guest relation skills Able to identify and act upon safety concerns A proven record as a team leader/motivator who works well under pressure, possesses strong attention to detail and time management skills Conflict management experience 2nd Language (especially French, Spanish, German or Chinese) an asset Management experience to include payroll, scheduling, recognition, performance management & employee training Computer proficient – micro-soft office Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment Must enjoy working in a remote location (camp setting) and have an outdoor enthusiast nature Must meet the organization grooming and appearance standards To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check Standard First-Aid or higher an asset
