Additional Information:
I am a risk management professional with twenty years of experience in healthcare related industries where significant professional liability exposures were key components of their overall risk profile. During the course of my career I have designed and implemented the first comprehensive risk management programs for several companies, including hospitals and health insurance companies.

My risk financing experience includes the use of traditional risk transfer mechanisms such as commercial insurance and alternative risk financing vehicles such as captives and a self-insured trust. I have experience in the administration of large deductible programs as high as $50 million per claim and in several different lines of coverage.

I am a strong negotiator with insurance markets and have the ability to present the company in the best light to underwriters. I am familiar with both domestic and international insurance markets and have experience going to market for companies in industries with high exposure risk profiles during difficult market conditions. I am able to determine the most appropriate deductible/retention levels for a company based on its claims history and the prevailing insurance pricing/market conditions

I also have significant experience in designing risk identification, reporting and control programs, with an emphasis expertise on professional liability. However, my risk control expertise is not limited to professional liability. I also have extensive experience in workers’ compensation risk control and claims cost containment programs. In the past, I have utilized my strong analytical abilities to identify root causes of claim trends and to implement target risk management actions to address the trends. I have a long history of working very collaboratively with operations management and can provide strong references from executives in support of my candidacy for this position.

Lastly, I have successfully organized and administered all of the elements of a risk management office, including insurance budgeting, contract review and the development of risk financing allocation systems designed to create “risk accountability” at the operating level.
