Supervised one to two crews in the operation of Gasoline Production Processes including Sulfuric Alkylation unit, Hydrofluoric Alkylation unit, Sulfuric Acid Regeneration Facility, C3 /C4 Merox Treaters and chemical handling/storage at the BP refinery. Ensured the safety of refinery personnel, environmental compliance, unit reliability and development of operator skills.
· Directed all activities associated with startup, shutdown, safe-off and turn-around processes including revision and/or development of operational procedures, P&ID reviews, isolation, purging, blinding, line blows, tightness testing and O2 freeing, sign off of completed work packages.
· Co directed unit optimization in collaboration with the Optimization Supervisor as well as equipment maintenance and repair in collaboration with the Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor.


Operations Supervisor 1994 - 1995
On special assignment with the Process Hazards Management group at the BP refinery.
· Participated in Process Hazards Analysis, Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews, Start Up reviews, Shutdown and Safe Off Procedures.
· Assisted in Root Cause Failure analysis and process and safety incident investigations.


Training Supervisor 1990 - 1994
Conceived, developed and conducted training programs for new operating personnel, incumbent operators and supervisory staff at the company’s Amoco refinery.
