IMPLEMENTATION ENGINEERING MANAGER IMPLEMENTATION ENGINEER SENIOR FIELD ENGINEER ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGEMENT DATA CENTER SUPERVISOR TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
Managed the northern New Jersey implementation engineering group. Team was responsible for new telecommunication service migrations as well as moves, adds and changes for mid-sized to large customers.
• Reduced the backlog of orders by 70 percent within the first six months of my assignment. Quicker service delivery resulted in faster billing and happier customers.
• Developed and installed NY/NJ restoration network used to reroute SONET during a fiber optic cable outages. This network allowed MCI to reroute service during the 9/11/2001 destruction of the World Trade Center.
• Planned and orchestrated service migrations for large customers to include hotels, hospitals, and large multi-location networks. Migrations were completed smoothly and with minimal or no interruption in customers service.
• Planned and managed a project to re-wire the entire MCI facility. The scope of project was to re-terminate 15,000 T1 to a new space and resource saving main distribution frame. The project was completed successfully with minimal interruption to customer services.
• Planned logistics involved in the relocation of five fiber optic cables. This was in support of building entrance diversity. The goal was to minimize the threat of multiple cable cuts at or near building cable entrances. The results of my planning were minimal customer service interruption during the relocation and a more reliable network.
• Migrated entire SS7 switch in 45 minutes in support of a system upgrade. 120 data circuits were moved with no degradation of the SS7 network.
• Invented alarm monitoring circuit which alerted technicians to system outages prior to customer awareness. The results were shorter outage intervals and better customer satisfaction.
• Developed cabling configuration which minimized points of failure and data circuit outages.
