Objective: Hello, my name is Brian Fortney and I am a very self motivated individual looking for a company that will benefit from my extensive knowledge in the retail buisness market. I have worked as an Operations Manager for Lowes and as a PGA Golf Professional over the last 15 years. I have made both my customers and my employees my top priorities thruout my career to bring out the very best in customer service that my stores could be. I will give my very best, each and every day, to ensure my customers know not only my name, but they will know that my staff and I will create an enjoyable and informative shopping experience for them each time they enter my store.
Experience:
Head Golf Professional Greene County C.C. in Waynesburg,Pa. 15370 March 1993 to October 1998 During the five years I was Head Golf Professional at Greene County C.C., I helped the club regain more of a family Country Club atmosphere. I started a couples leauge on Friday nights that grew large enough that they club had to start using the upper dining area again to seat everyone. I started a Junior golf program that grew to more than seventy-five kids, and we eventually had to stop taking new members at the request of the Board of Directors because we could not handle any more play. I was resposible for the entire golf operation at the club. I owned my own Proshop there and my staff and I organized all events and all daily activities. I taught many lessons each year and also using my training for club fitting was able to fit my members for new clubs whenever they needed. I did my own club repair and also built custom sets for my members at their request. Operations Manager Lowes in Uniontown, Pa November 1998 to August 2006 My job resposabilities as an Operations Manager were the same as a Store Manager. I was the second in command in the store and accountable for our Budgets as well as expenses. I worked directly with our employees helping them with their career development and set the level of expectation clearly so they would know what was expected of them every day. I held morning meetings with my staff outlining the plan for each day. I held weekly meetings with my managers working with them on ways to maintain or increase their sales and retain and train good employees. I was accountable for all aspects of our buisness including inventory, shipping, and receiving.
