Jan 2005 Apr 2006 Production Manager Directly responsible for Day to Day and Monthly productivity and efficiency goals for the plant. Manage the total production efforts of Heatcraft Tifton, supervising 5 Technical Advisors and 200 - 275 hourly personnel, utilizing lean manufacturing tools including KANBAN, JIT, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma. Assisted with daily production efforts where needed Co-lead the Heatcraft Tifton efforts in conception, design and implementation of the New Technology Condenser project. Managed manpower and working with the technical Advisors I assigned personnel as needed. Implemented sequencing and first in first out system to improve the sheet metal flow in the Cut-To-Length area and through-out the plant. Coordinated all Prototype builds throughout the plant, ensuring the all manufactured parts, purchased parts design prints and assembly prints are ready prior to building the unit on line. 3 prototypes were built with zero negative impact to the production lines. Extensive experience with ISO9001 quality system. Involved with semi-annual and tri annual re-certification processes. Have written numerous quality and operational procedures. Lead numerous Kaizen events which have improved productivity and presentation of Units and sub-assemblies to production lines and reduced scrap rates by 59%.
Jan 2004 Jan 2005 Special Projects engineer Completed Step + Six Sigma Green Belt training. Scope of project was to determine environmental effects of on Reach Condensing Units, implement protective procedures and determine intervals for inspection/repair of completed units. Projected cost savings is $93,000.00 per year in reduced warranty cost. Researched, designed and bid a three axis Automated Expander for the Reach and New Technology Condenser Line. When fully implemented this will free up 1 hourly positions and improve efficiency of the Reach Coil Build Area by 33%. Designed an implemented a new header brazing fixture that significantly reduced on-line and field leaks in Reach Condensers. Reduced on-line leak rate by a factor of 10,
