Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Works in the capacity of the Director whenever requires especially during his absence and leaves. § While working in this Department, I had the chance to work with different nationality (Europeans, Hispanics, Asians and Mid-Easterns) integrating them to work in the common good of the entire Department and to deliver all patient care needs. § Responsible for supervising Physical Therapist, PT Assistant, PT Aides and PT students. Supervises the whole PT department, all the PT staffs, other professional and management staffs, patients of other staffs undergoing treatment, appointment lists, supplies and other related items in maintaining organization and excellent patient care is being delivered. Delegating patient load and organizing the Department on a daily basis, making sure the daily operation runs smooth and patients’ needs are met. § Responsible for evaluation and treatment of out-patients in the PT Department. Work load mostly consists of cervical/lumbar spine dysfunction, Back and Neck Surgeries, SCI, THR/TKR, Sports-related injuries, work-related injuries(workmen’s compensation), musculoskeletal problems, Orthopedic problems, CVA’s, and TBI’s. § Trains and continuously educates other PT staffs, PT Technician, Pt Aides with the latest treatment techniques if possible or new equipments. § Monitors closely that all patient’s chart has been properly documented especially complaints, treatment plan, treatment done and progress notes. § Plans physiotherapy treatment which includes dosage, frequency and duration of treatments. § Prepares and maintains all treatment rooms in the PT department are well-kept, clean, equipments are in good working condition, and the supplies needed for patient care are readily available to facilitate efficient patient care or treatment. § Provide evaluation and treatments to homebound patients, worked closely with the PT staff-in charge of giving home health service and primary caregiver at home for easier and safer mobility and compliance with home exercises programs. § Worked closely with the Social Workers, Occupational Therapist and Nurses to provide maximum care in the Home setting. § Initiated discharge planning from the hospital with coordination thru the family to provide safer transition from hospital to patient’s home. § Prepares insurance reports, patient progress reports, instruction leaflets and other patient-related matters and paper works.

Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Worked as the Rehab Supervisor of the whole department. § Creating and implementing exercise programs for individual cases, educating patients and their families during the course of treatments and in preparation for discharge planning including a visit to the patient’s home to assess equipment needs, modification around the home and educating the immediate caregiver for easier and safer transition from the Rehab Unit to the patient’s home. § Worked in the department, where I was responsible for evaluation and treatment of wound care, Orthopedic conditions such as TKR and TNR, neck and back surgery, spinal cord injuries, general disability and weakness in elderly, Cancer patients, CHF/COPD conditions, musculoskeletal disorder and other geriatric and pediatric cases. § Worked as PT consultant in different charity nursing homes. § Responsible for evaluation and treatment of both in-patient and out-patient with orders from Physiatrist. § Worked as a Staff Physical Therapist, responsible for evaluation and treatment of both in-patient and out-patient departments. Patient load mostly consists of Orthopedic cases, Neurological cases and geriatric cases. § Provided home visits to the surrounding communities for those patients that are homebound due to their illnesses. § Developed individual protocols for each mode of Physical Therapy modalities/treatments and exercise programs. § Since this is a teaching hospital affiliated with the different Universities in Manila, we are required to do a case presentation weekly in front of the patient, families, doctors, nurses, social workers, speech therapist, occupational therapist and recreational therapist and discuss current treatment, goals and progress of the patients as well as complete discharge planning to assess patients to assess patients’ safety and needs before the patient goes home after discharge from the unit. § Also worked on weekends to provide treatment for the in-patient Rehab unit and in-patient acute unit for Wound Care/Burn Unit and pre/post hip total and total knee protocols. § I was also required to attend a continuing education and seminars to further improve my skills and update my knowledge about current treatment in physical therapy. § Responsible for supervision of Physical Therapy Staffs for their clinical internship. § Responsible for daily operation, supply needs and inventory of the department.
