LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL SKILLS
1 I was born in Peshawar, Pakistan, in a Pathan family, therefore I had an opportunity to learn Pashto since my childhood. Our family of three brothers and three sisters often spoke Pashto and also Urdu at home.

2 My father was an army officer, and army officers transfer from one station to another every couple of years. Therefore I had a chance to live and communicate with people in various cities of Pakistan such as Rawalpindi, Campbellpur, Manser Camp and Jhelum (cities of Punjab province) Bannu, Risal pur, Abbottabad and Peshawer (cities of Frontier province) which broaden my knowledge to their culture and languages. It also helped me learn to speak Urdu, Panjabi and Pashto languages with school friends and their families.

3 I received most of my education in Army and private schools and colleges which granted a opportunity of learning English and Urdu reading and writing along with other subjects. I studied Urdu till my college degree level.
One of my hobbies during the school days was penpals. I had pen friends all over in Pakistan and some international communities. I wrote letters to friends in Urdu. Pashto and English and in return received their responses. It was a big help for me to be more practical with those languages.
