The Exclusive Company in southeastern Wisconsin
May 1986 to March 2006
I started at The Exclusive Company in May, 1986 as the Assistant Manager at the West Bend location. In 1990, I was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Brookfield location. In 1991, I was promoted to Manager of the Milwaukee store. Within 3 years, I took that store to being the highest grossing pure music store in Wisconsin. It was voted the best music store in Wisconsin for 7 years in a row, as voted by The Shepard Express paper and the Wisconsin Area Music Industry. The store was consistently the top revenue producer among the 11 Exclusive Company locations. My quality leadership, ordering ability, and steadfast desire to be the best surpassed all others in my field. During this time, I also managed the Brookfield, Brown Deer and Greenfield locations when the managers of those stores were either let go or decided to move on.
From 1994 until 2001, I was also the District Manager of the 5 Milwaukee area locations. With the onslaught of the the internet, the retail sector of the music indusrty has taken a tremendous downturn. After several years of combating this onslaught, I felt the time was right for me to pursue another avenue. I then departed The Exclusive Company on good terms to find another career before I was was forced to pound the pavement in search of a job.

While still working at my full time, job, I was also the manager of the movies, music and books section for Target in Grafton. I worked there 32 + hours per week as well as maintaining a 48 hour work week at my full time position. My duties included managing the movies, music and books section of the store as well as assiting in the electronics section.

Menards in West Bend (Present employment)
I started with Menards as a morning stocker, working from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. while also working a full time job. After deciding that my full time position had no chance for advancement, I chose to accept a full time position with Menards in March, 2006. After 2 months with Menards, I was elevated to the position of Assistant Manager in the Millwork Department, even before finishing their manager trainee program. I completed the program before the allotted time, and have been in that position since May, 2006. I have been responsible for bringing stability and organization to the department. I usually exceed the sales goals that are provided for me while handling most of the managerial duties and paperwork that go along with running a department.
