Program Manager, New Product Introductions (NPI)
Managed five to ten projects simultaneously with multi-disciplinary teams working from conception to introduction into production.
· Led NPI team composed of eight members to redesign new liquid fuel stick experiencing service failure problems due to harmonic noise vibration. Changed part from three-piece design to two-piece design, also converted one piece from Hastelloy to stainless steel. Results - $20 M saving, increasing part life expectancy five times.
· Developed procedure to repair customer nozzles locally instead of sending back to Germany, saving customer $2 K per nozzle and reducing lead-time from 20 weeks to 6 weeks.
· Completed rewrite for NPI Manager procedures per ISO 9001 requirements, acting as key contact between Woodward engineering and all licensing personnel. Also completed product life cycle procedure to standardize program manager procedure throughout Woodward.
· Developed new product costing worksheet to track costs throughout project, working with suppliers on cost reduction changes to designs. Reduced final product costs more than initial estimates with every project except one.
· Led teams in completing design reviews, DFMEA, risk analysis, Six Sigma processes, costing reviews, PFMEA, first piece qualification package (FPQ), bills of material, routings, and process sheets.
· Involved in machine and material layout as well as training production personnel for new products turned over to production.

Corporate Project Engineer
Transferred manufacturing for airline seating products from Winston-Salem, NC, to Leighton Buzzard, England, UK, to reduce costs. Traveled extensively between US and UK, training Leighton Buzzard personnel in correct assembly procedures.
· Closed down second facility in England, consolidating it into existing footprint of Leighton Buzzard. Negotiated pricing and timing for move with all vendors, completing project ahead of schedule and under budget with savings $1 M per year.
· Acted as Project Engineer responsible for purchase and installation for new CMM equipment, material handling equipment, and new computers.

NACCO Material Handling, Lenoir, NC 1990 to 1997
Manufacturer of Hyster and Yale lift truck masts, cylinders, and motors.
