Combat Lifesaver Instructor
Teaching Duties Give prepared lectures to classes. Teach about shock, fractures, C-spine immobilization, field & pressure dressing, and giving IV's. Provide hands-on instruction on personnel and mannequins. Maintain student on-task behavior during instruction. Use maps, picture overlays and other visual overlays. Utilize audio-visual teaching aids including computers presentations, videos, and slides. Adapt methods of instruction to meet individual needs of students. Personalize lessons by using student's experience. Encourage active participation by each student in daily lessons. Adjust planned activities according to school situations. Place students in pairs and cooperative groups for specialized lessons. Involve students in learning and practicing problem-solving skills. Resolve problems with tact and diplomacy.
Administrative Duties Prepare units and daily lesson plans. Research additional information to supplement text material. Prepare and distribute hand-outs. Write, administer and grade quizzes and tests. Issue grades based on tests, classroom work and participation. Recognize students for special effort and improvement. Meet with upper management for completing After Action Reviews. Attend faculty and departmental meetings to discuss goals, objectives and methodology. Discuss and implement new methods for motivating students. Develop long-range curriculum materials. Work with other teachers at in-service workshops in suggesting improvements for teachers' and students' morale. Correct papers and assign grades. Distribute Certificates of Training to all personnel meeting requirements.
