Objective: A challenging position in a reputed company in the field of hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation where strong technical and analytical skills can impact the bottom line.
Experience: 1991- 2003 Oil and Natural Gas Commission India Geologist / Senior Geologist /Deputy Superintendent Geologist
· Monitoring of drilling of exploratory wells in Assam-Arakan Fold Belt structures, high-pressured deep-water drilling of exploratory wells in Krishna Godavari offshore
· Well sitting, monitoring of drilling of high-pressured exploratory wells in Krishna-Godavari offshore and onshore basins and wildcat wells in Vidhyan basin and Pranhita-Godavari basin
· Supervised mud logging program. Carried out stratigraphic and overpressure interpretation. Supervised sampling program (cutting samples, gas and liquid samples). Described cutting samples and prepared lithological strip log (Master Log) and sample description report.
· Supervised geological segments of coring operations - selection, recovery and description. Supervised geological segments of wire-line logging operations. Carried out preliminary electrolog interpretation and correlation. Prepared cross- sections and subsurface maps.
· Supervised geological segments of Leak Off Test, casing seating. Provided geological inputs to personnel of other disciplines (such as drilling and chemistry) on the rig for successful and safe completion of drilling operation.
· Prepared Daily Geological Reports (geological morning reports) and Weekly Geological Reports. Liaison with geological, evaluation and drilling personnel on the rig and the base office. Coordinated data distribution from rig to base office. Prepared final well history reports to company’s specifications. Trained fresh recruits and advised junior colleagues in day-to-day operations whenever required.
· Base coordinator for offshore exploratory drilling and preparation of well reports

Certifications & Achievements
ONGC Merit certificate for excellent well site geological monitoring of wildcat well Damoh # 1 in Vindhyan basin (2000 – 2001)
ONGC Merit certificate for effective well site geological monitoring of deep-water well G-1-9 in Krishna-Godavari Offshore basin (1999 – 2000)
ONGC Merit certificate for generating exploratory leads in Krishna-Godavari Offshore basin (1996 – 1997)
ONGC Merit certificate for obtaining second position in overall performance during entry level training (1990 – 1991)
Skills: · Acquainted with various exploration and interpretation skills for oil and gas exploration and development; Sequence stratigraphy for both clastic and carbonates. · Hands-on work experience in well-site geological works in high-pressure oil/gas wells. Well acquainted with well sites, drilling operations both in offshore and onshore locations. · Well versed in well-site monitoring techniques and report generation for Jack-up rig and drill-ship; identification of geological signatures from drilled-cuttings, mud logging, electrolog correlation and seismic records. Thorough practical knowledge in hydrocarbon detection, both in ditch samples and in mud logging generated data. Fairly good knowledge in drilling technology, mud system, supervision of mud logging, well testing, reservoir engineering and well complication analysis. · Continuous hydrocarbon monitoring for reservoir detection and safety. Formation evaluation, pore pressure evaluation, gas show evaluation. Identifying possible drilling hazards. · Identifying formation boundaries and changes, selecting casing points, TD hunt. Core selection and description of core as per company’s specifications. · Collection of gas and liquid (oil/formation water) samples from well bore during well testing. · Interpretation of exploration results. Technical report writing - Daily Geological Reports (DGR), Weekly Geological Reports and final well history reports.
Additional Information: Experienced in various aspects of well site geological works in geologically complex basins. Worked in high pressure/high temperature wildcat, exploratory and development wells in offshore and onshore locations. Carried out complete surveillance of oil and gas wells during drilling and testing operations using advanced electrical sensing equipments and computers. In entire career, no sand, even with minor hydrocarbon presence was left undetected.
Successfully carried out wellsite geological work in wildcat wells Aswaraopeta # 1 in Pranhita-Godavari Basin in South India and Damoh # 1 in Vindhyan Basin in Central India.
Monitored drilling operation of Pasarlapudi # 23, which was drilled as the relief well for the blown out well Pasrlapudi # 18.
Based on analysis of Mud Logging Unit generated data, geological interpretation of seismic, electrolog and petrophysical data, recommended early termination of well RCP#1 in Krishna-Godavari basin as basement appeared 700 m up than it was expected thus saving time and money. Basement was later confirmed in the logs.
The only producing sand in exploratory offshore well GS-15-3 was cored from top to bottom on my recommendation. This was possible by diligently correlating wells during drilling and meticulously analyzing cutting samples.
