Experience: I have been employed at the Internal Revenue Service since 1988, and I have had various positions with the IRS. Current Position: GS-203-6 PERSONNEL STAFFING ASSISTANT- PERSONNEL BRANCH I independently serve as a Personnel Staffing Assistant, which resolves employee account issues in an expeditious manner by providing one stop customer service to the employee & the manager; I also process job placement announcements for current openings within the IRS. I perform analytical technical assistance detailing in employee benefits/relations, staffing, and personnel/payroll processing. I complete & approve non & competitive SF-52’s, including determining & qualifying basic quals & pay settings. Provide advice and counsel in all aspects of the Office of Workers Compensation Program (OWCP) to agency officials, managers, supervisors, and Fellow associates. I also assist in all aspects of the OWCP Program, including forms completion, case follow-up, and records maintenance. Provide technical advice on pay matters relating to Title 5 U.S.C. and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Responsible for resolving Pay administration problems involving decisions on regular and special Rates, locality pay, pay adjustments for supervisors, wage grade, pay banding, AD, SES, and EX pay schedules. Implements system requirements for building and maintaining human resources data base files. Provides Information and data for managerial reports on personnel actions; compiles data for human resource and statistical reporting; and develops standardized and unique documents and /or complex computer inquires using query research and programming techniques or software. Provides advice and assistance to users, tests system changes, documents system operations, train users, perform quality assurance checks of the data base, identifies and corrects data base problems, and trouble shoots functional problems. I served a Team Leader in the Data Conversion Operations, in which I oversaw 43 Data Transcriber / Scripts employees. I assigned-directed-planned-reviewed and oversaw that the employees were processing the workflow in accordance to the operations. I provided traning for the employees as needed. I provided employee feedback on work processes - updates and changes to the work process. I attended a 2 week training class to learn how to edit tax forms. As the Team Leader of the group it was required to assist with the workflow to ensure the inventory requirements were met. I edited & reviewed Tax Forms and Schedules processed to prepare them for Data Conversion. I processed the following forms; Forms 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ-Refunds, Zero balances, Balance dues-Part paids, Full paids Timely and Late returns -Schedules A, B, C, D, E, F, SE, etc. In most cases, if none of the situations below exist, tax forms are sent from code and edit to Data Conversion for entry into the computer 1. Note missing Signatures, Documentation, Schedules and prepare these forms for correspondence with the taxpayer 2. Watch to make sure taxpayers are not duplicate filing electronically and with paper 3. Catch “copy”, “duplicate”, or “amended” returns that need to be routed to another area to make sure that they are not already in the system. I initiated a Correspondence Team to review all correspondence to endure that the final product was correct. I Reroute International returns to their proper area-Send Prior year returns to their proper area-Watch for possible fraudulent returns and route to “fraud control”-I also respond to Taxpayer inquirer - communication, such as a request to set up installment payments, by making sure their request is routed properly. I made sure that timely and late returns are properly dated so that neither the IRS nor the taxpayer has to pay excess penalties or interest. I committed myself to process and oversaw processes by the employees of the group to be efficient and does the best job make Data Conversions job as smooth as possible and to get taxpayers refunds out on a timely basis.
