Education Specialist/Center Director Southwest Ga Community Action Council/Tri-County in Buena Vista, GA August 2001 to December 2005 My duties as Education Spealist was to maintain classrooms/curriculm of five different centers. The centers were housed in several different counties: Marion, Schley, Sumter, Terrel, Leesburg. I had to train teachers and prepare them for the classroom. I conducted workshops for teaching staff. I would check classroom records, lesson plans and observe teachers in classroom setting. I conducted interview for teaching staff throughout the counties. I had to make sure classrooms were set up correctly and teachers were maintaining the classrooms. I had twenty-two classrooms to supervise in the five counties. Center Director Tri-County Head Start in Buena Vista, GA October 1996 to May 2006 I was Center Director of Head Start center. The center housed 120 students in which I had to maintain classroom structure and ratio. I was supervisor of 34 employees - ranging from Custodian, Cooks, Family Service Workers, Assistant Teachers & Teachers. I had to maintain personal files on each employee. I had to prepare & maintain a center that was state license and NAEYC accreditation. I had to make sure my center was up to inspection yearly. The center was inspected by PRISM (Federal) every three years.
I had to check lesson plans and to make sure classrooms maintain the updated curriculum. I attended monthly meeting an annual workshops. I dealt with the community and parents daily. I had to handle maintance problems throughout the center.
I completed payroll & check time cards every two weeks on each employee. I had to get substitutes for anyone out of work.
I had to try to maintain a pleasant environment for the children, parents and employees daily. Teacher Enrichment Service Program in Columbus, GA August 1994 to August 1996 I taught children between the ages of 3-4. I had to prepare daily activities for the classroom and to make sure all materials were prepared ahead of time. I had to make sure the students had a good learning environment.0. I had to write lesson plans and turn them in weekly. I had to test students and maintain a file on each child. I completed homevisits on each student twice a year.
