Objective:
I desire a position as senior chemist, senior environmental engineer or technical manager of an industrial laboratory.


Experience:
I have 30 years experience in industrial work, including quality control, quality auditing, environmental chemistry, industrial forensics, analytical method development, environmental engineering, technical manager of a Materials and Chemical Laboratory specializing in industrial forensics and failure analysis, ISO 14001 Development, Implementation and Continuous Improvement, ISO 14001 Auditor, operation of a waste water treatment facility, management of hazardous and non hazadous waste, environmental reporting, training coordinator for compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations, document writing, and serving as technician mentor and trainer. I also have experience in dealing with external customers such as Ford, GM and Daimler Chrysler. My computer and communication skills are well developed. I have worked in a variety of industrial environments ranging from synthetic textile fibers to manufacturing automotive OEM products. I enjoy working with cross functional teams to rapidly and effectively solve problems. I am currently the leader of the spill response team at the facility where I work and am certified to the 24 hour Hazardous Waste Operations Level.


Education:
B.S. in English (with a minor in chemistry, including 33 semester hours of chemistry and the requisite courses in mathematics and physics). I attended graduate school for one year and took graduate level courses in both chemistry and english. I also have an A.S. degree in Chemical Engineering Technology.


Affiliations:
I am a member of the Carolina's Air Pollution Control Association (CAPCA).


Skills:
My skills range from problem solving using standard and non-standard techniques, researching available literature to support problem solving, very well developed "people" skills, good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, working as an effective member of cross functional teams, supplier development, excellent writing skills, the ability to quickly learn about processes and materials in order to solve problems as quickly as external and internal customers demand.
