Objective: I am currently a high school history teacher that is relocating to the Atlanta area for personal reasons. I am very organized and I am a hard worker. I have had experience working with diverse cultures and ethnic groups. I am a hard worker willing to try new things
Experience: I have had experience working in an office setting helping to coordinate conventions around the the United States for a non-government organization, Adventist Systems International. While working for ASI I was in charge of writing press releases about the different conventions that were taking place. I have been in charge of booking travel plans and I have had extensive experience traveling both within the United States and outside of the United States. From 1999-2000 I lived in Kenya, Africa where I helped to conduct a malnutrician survey for UNICEF. While there I helped run a clinic for women and I organized an agriculture class for young children. Currently I am a high school history teacher, yearbook sponsor, and student association sponsor. Education: I completed a bachelor's degree at Union College in Lincoln, Ne majoring in the feild of History Education. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA in December of 2004.I have participated in teacher's meetings that are required in order to stay certified as a teacher. I plan to eventually get my master's degree in English as a Second Language so that I will be able to teach conversational English to adults.
Affiliations: I am currently a member of Amnesty International and I give my support financially to the Seventh-day Adventist church. I work as a teacher at a very small school which allows me to participate voluntarily in many out-of-school functions. Most of these functions are student led. I have never been part of a union but if I was ever given the opportunity, I certainly would.
Skills: I have had extensive experience working with young people. I have also had experience working in a clinic, a dentist office, a farm, a summer camp, a life guard, a server, a hostess, a secretary, and a construction worker.
Additional Information: I have had the opportunity to travel to 48 different countries and I have lived in 6 different countries. With the increase in globalization, it has become increasingly important to embrace cultural and ethnic diversity. Because of my background I consider myself a special candidate to do just that.
