later expanded service offering to include new parts and service
work. Oversee all parts and service sales, including customer
interface. Manage inventory valued at $250K. Direct and collaborate
on customer service issues. Execute all parts ordering, scheduling,
shipping and receiving, and general administration tasks.

* Researched and wrote successful business plan culminating in
securing a ten-year, $150K financing arrangement and in procuring
$75K LOC at 1% above prime rate despite no previous loan history with
lender.

* Launched startup operations with sole responsibility for
planning, decision-making, and administration. Developed and
implemented business policies and procedures within six months.

installing a computerized inventory control system, achieving 12-fold
increases in inventory turnover and improved inventory mix for

Distribution Manager (1982 to 1987), Jacksonville, IL

Promoted to supervisory position over 200 management, clerical, and
hourly employees. Held direct accountability for $500M in assets and
annual plant purchases exceeding $100M. Managed design, equipping,
and startup operations for new state-of-the-art greenfield finished-
product distribution center. Led organizational development and
management for purchasing, contract administration, production
scheduling, inventory control, warehouse, traffic, shipping and
receiving, and customer service departments.

* Orchestrated, designed, and implemented beta testing for
Distribution Management System, realizing more than $1M in savings
with seamless on-time implementation. Execution of initiatives
resulted in improvements in eight departments as well as in the areas
of forecasting, management information and reporting, inventory
turns, warehousing labor productivity, production scheduling,
invoicing accuracy, accounts receivable/collections, and customer
service.

* Pivotal player in managing startup operations and inventory
requirements for newly constructed $16M distribution center with
state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System (WMS) and new material-
handling equipment. Worked with all employees from another facility
in the proper use of new management systems and state-of-the-art wire-
guided, high-reach/narrow-aisle lift trucks, and in planning the
facility's layout.

* Initiated capital funds replacement for lift-truck equipment by
analyzing and forecasting maintenance costs for aging equipment.
Presented lease-versus-buy cost analysis and ROI calculation based on
savings from decreased maintenance costs, reduced downtime, and
increased productivity. Justified capital funding expenditure and
received approval to purchase equipment on planned cycle of
replacement within one month.

* Procured cutting-edge material-handling equipment for optimal use
of new distribution center capacity. Interfaced two viable
manufacturers and negotiated contract for purchase and delivery,
training, and maintenance requirements. Evaluated and selected Hyster
product based on on-time equipment acquisition, operator training and
support, and commitment to ongoing service and maintenance.


Manager-Freight & Warehousing (1980 to 1982), Pittsford, NY

Directed operations for 14 nationwide contracted consumer-product
warehouses, including service and costs, contract administration and
negotiation, warehousing and freight payment, sanitation, and
