Passenger Security Screener
Responsible for protecting the safety and security of all arteries of the airport during routine and emergency situations as well as from assault or attack due to terrorist threat. Ensure that lives of the traveling public are safe as well as those of airport personnel. Perform security related tasks
upon entrance at an airport sterile area .

Acting Lead on overnight shift from August 2003 to August 2004; was responsible for calibration and maintenance of x-ray equipment, alarm testing, coaching and guidance to
passenger security screeners, and observation of coworker’s proper use of x-ray, hand-held,
wand devices. As Passenger Security Screener and Acting Lead, Assigned to various terminals
and checkpoints through the TSA, O’Hare International Airport in conformity with safely and security requirements:



Checkpoint
Maintain metal walk-through to ensure the non-existence of a concealed item on an individual when entering the sterile area. Operate an x-ray image machine which allows view of potential
items posing a potential threat to the traveling public and airport personnel. Perform searches with a hand-held device used to detect metal in conformity with the TSA’s standard operating
procedure and aviation protocol. Additionally perform requested and random searches of individuals’ baggage and carry-on items when entering the sterile area by using physical and trace device equipment.

Exit Lane
Monitor boundaries allowing access from the sterile area. Check communications equipment to ensure it is fully operational. Check admittance vendor items to the sterile area. Check admittance of law enforcement personnel entering the sterile area. Respond to customer inquiries
regarding terminal facilities.

Acting Lead Passenger Security Screener
Supervised a staff of four to six screeners. Perform closure of terminal checkpoint from previous shift. Close unstaffed exits. Maintained break and lunch rotation of assigned screeners. Perform
maintenance and equipment testing in accordance with operation and command center personnel.
Calibrated checkpoint equipment for next shift. Reopen checkpoint to allow access for next shift.
