EFORE GROUP (public company)

Senior Executive VP, Efore PLC, Finland (public company), 1999 - present, ($100 million electronics manufacturer). Hold P& L responsibility as second in command and deputy to CEO. Client base includes ABB, Nokia, Ericsson and Tellabs among others. Member of Efore's global Senior Executive Committee.

Developed an action plan concept and implemented it for group wide use starting with administration (Europe) and now it is used from project management to CEC meetings. This is saving costs through higher responsibility by employees and keeping track on time lines which decreases delays and let us avoid potential penalties of being late.

Developed a monthly reporting form in Word including numerical data in spread sheets for the US facility which was taken over for the group wide use in Europe and Asia, too. This is helping management and especially saving time in the head office where reports are analyzed and presented to the board of directors.

President (USA), Inc., Texas, USA 2000 - present ($ 24 million electronics manufacturer):

My task was first to turn the company around and then put it to grow and sustain as independent from parent company as possible. Both tasks are accomplished and now I'm working on the profitability in high growth.

Developed a new strategy for Efore's US corporation from power supplies to inverters and EDMS and refurbishment. Introduced the strategy throughout corporation in Europe and Asia during 2002. The concept led to a new segmentation of business areas group wide.

Expansion and growth of US Operation. Drove 300% sales growth from $6 million in 2000 to $ 24 million in 2005. Captured with his sales team new accounts like Abbott Labs, Andrew Corp., Kone Inc., NCR and Wartsila Corp. On Deloitte's USA Fast 500 listing in 2005 and won Fast 50 nomination in 2004 and 2005 in Texas by MTBC. Key Executive nomination in 2005 by the Chamber of Commerce in Irving, Texas.

Selected to turn around the U.S. Business - has led to new contracts and several RFQs in the field of telecommunication, medical technology and industrial automation. Saved up to 25% on component pricing by utilizing global sourcing. Saved 24% in annual overhead costs by reducing labor costs and salaries and hiring purchasing and sourcing experts. I initiated purchasing to save up to 25% on component pricing by utilizing group wide global sourcing at Efore's plant in Texas.

Chief Executive Officer, Muuntolaite Oy, Finland, 1997 - 1999 ($9.6 million subsidiary of Efore PLC.

Entered new export markets in the India, South Africa and Europe. Grew sales 10% to $9.6 million Managed 60 employees. One of my tasks was to integrate the company to the parent.

Rationalized operation. Re-engineered production plant layout, upgraded equipment and improved work flow saving $500 K annually in Finland and outsourced a part of manufacturing which was demanding capital expenditure but generating low earnings (Finland) and saved extra $100 K annually.

Integrated the company to the parent company in Finland saving $200 K by cutting costs for rents and personnel.

PALOHEIMO GROUP (privately held company in $200 million range)

Chief Executive Officer, Lundia OY, Finland 1994 - 1997, ($8 million European consumer goods manufacturer):

Grew US operation from the scratch to profitable business. Built dealer network in highly competitive marketplace.

Studied and entered new export markets. I studied new export markets in India, Saudi-Arabia and the USA for wooden shelving system (furniture) from Europe. I entered the US market. The sales increased $200 K in the first year and helped us to keep manufacturing plant running without shut downs which saved us $50 K annually.

Introduced a new product line nationwide. I developed competition to the Container Store and Lundia USA by introducing a new product line with the trade name Libra and building a dealer net cross the country (USA) through Bed Bath & Beyond, Everything Organized and Organized Living.

Increased business in Denmark through Kinnarps (Mr. Oestergaard).

Served on board of Fenestra OY (largest window manufacturer in Scandinavia).


PLANMECA GROUP (privately held company)
($250 million manufacturing/distribution company)

Director of Operations, Plandent East (Praha), 1992 - 1994

Developed and established new market channel in several countries. After the fall of communism I studied markets and chose to develop a dealer net in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria for dental and mammography x-ray equipments. I sold 10 mammography equipments in the Czech Rep., 4 in Hungary and 1 in Bulgaria. Several dental panoramic x-rays were sold in every country. I made a tough competition to GE, Phillips and Morita.

CEO, Czech-Plandent S.R.O., Prague, Czech Rep., 1993-94 (startup subsidiary of Plandent Oy)

Formed a joint-venture with best dealers. Delivered $2 million sales and $300K profit year 2.

Secured profit and market share for a startup company. I led a startup international operation to $2 million annual sales and $300 k annual profits in the Czech-Rep. in the second year of operation and developed it to a distribution joint-venture with 7 best dealers capturing position 2 in the market
place. The JV was also Nr. 2 dealer of 3M dental materials.

Sales Manager, North and East, Planmeca GmbH, Aachen, Germany, 1989 - 1991 ($10
million importing and distribution subsidiary of Planmeca)

Opened a new market for Planmeca dental equipments in East-Germany after the fall of GDR and the Berlin wall: Added $1.5 million new sales in 1 year in East-Germany including the largest single deal of the corporation at that time with 100 dental units and patient chairs.

Headed a department with 4 persons and was responsible for group reporting. Found a mistake made 5 years prior in depreciations having $200 K impact on P/L statement.

Carried out an international market study. Niobe - a Finnish manufacturer of packing robots - contracted me to study West-European markets for envelope industry and its potential for packing robots. I visited and interviewed several leading manufactures in Germany, Italy and Sweden. As result of my study the company decided to market their product in Germany and Sweden. The first export deal was made later on in Sweden.
