„o Served as technical lead in the Black Demon exercise, a DoD network security warfare simulation, which encompassed most of the air force base network defenders; this was the largest computer network defense exercise in the history of the DoD.
„o Directed the development with the WEB team, rewriting an entire program and implementing it at WPAFB; the program, Battle Comm, allowed different groups of a crisis action team to communicate more efficiently and in real-time.
„o Developed a new software application; mapped requirements and program logic for new Firewall Exception Request Tool (FERT) used to collect compliance exception data organizationwide. The application improved customer response time to change requests and eased the management of firewall configurations and coalition to Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages.
„o Functioned as team lead for the installation and configuration of the new AFMC NOSC ISS II database extraction tool for scanning computers; the information gathered from multiple scanning devices was collected and analyzed for trends and future enhancements that ultimately improved network security.
„o Designed an online vulnerability catalog for customers use in fixing weaknesses discovered by ISS scans; the database also allowed customers to research identified vulnerabilities and provided a full listing description with fixed action required.
„o Served as project team lead and network designer for a cutting edge, state-of-the-art switched fiber to the desktop network installation, targeted to increase bandwidth for the advanced research conducted in Industrial Base Information Center (IBIC). The result was fiber optic connections to all desktops, which allowed greater use of resources and communication between scientists.
