Experience: Facilitated a process for a leadership group to define the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the organization. Developed a self-help tool that could be used as an assessment to measure the successes of the defined process. Result: Each person was able to measure his or her own individual results, and eventually the process was disseminated to the entire organization.
Negotiated and maintained contracts, with a major network television affiliate, to broadcast a weekly 30-minute infomercial. Result: Maintained the highest Neilson rating for a specific topic- related broadcast in the State of Arizona. Served with the board of directors of a low-power, non-commercial TV station. Facilitated the negotiations to sell the station. Also, was able to secure time on the purchaser’s high power station in addition to the cash price. Result: Television programming aired on a second, full-power commercial station. Proceeds from the sale of the station upgraded the organization’s production equipment. Reorganized and designed the corporate budget presentation to reflect the priorities and focus for the upcoming year. Result: The membership of the organization became acutely aware of, and enthused with the relevance of the presentation, and began to see the value of each dollar invested. Participated, as a team member, to prepare, produce, and purchase time to air a direct-call, thirty-second television commercial promoting an annual children’s event. Result: The event surpassed its previous high attendance of 958, hosting over 1,700 children.
Acted as a transition consultant for an organization that needed to rediscover core values, define the corporate vision and communicate a clear mission. Result: The organization established new messages to reinforce the significance of participants and clarify corporate success.
Coordinated the organization’s “special events staff” to successfully host Phoenix’s Holiday Electric Light Parade, The Fiesta Bowl Parade, television remote events, and the Harlem Globetrotter’s largest summer youth camp, etc. Result: The organization gained a great deal of goodwill in the community, and raised funds for community intervention.
Successfully intervened to unite seven diverse divisions, and integrated all into the same shared vision within a volunteer organization comprised of several hundred adult and youth volunteers. Result: With everyone sharing the same goals and objectives, confusion and conflict were minimized as the group grew in healthy interpersonal dynamics and participation. Oversaw the management of a media office involving pre-print and press production. Successfully integrated both aspects of production. Also, facilitated the use of creativity, quality and accuracy on the pre-press, production, and final product. Result: Increased the clients’ appreciation for the quantity and quality of the products produced. Facilitated crisis prevention, crisis intervention, and crisis resolution for existing situations within the home as well as in the workplace. Result: Gained the confidence of volunteers and staff to prevent, address, and arbitrate significant differences of opinion that in turn fostered healthier group dynamics. Led weekly staff meetings for twenty-five professional and support staff. Result: The anticipation-attitude and energy levels of those participating in the meetings rose significantly. Morale increased, and participants felt the routine meeting lead to time “better invested.” Designed curriculum manuals and training procedures for the purpose of training others to become more motivated and effective in their roles. Manuals have been utilized in a variety of training sessions. Results: The training sessions result in an increase in shared vision, and a greater personal energy invested in corporate endeavors. Participated as a member of various senior management teams. Result: Influenced the senior officer and gained notoriety by offering ideas and innovative suggestions as to how organizational dynamics might become more effective as well as efficient.
