Experience:
Graduate Part Time Instructor of English, Texas Tech University, 2003-present

Introduction to Creative Writing: This course covers the three basic areas in creative writing: fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Students examine and attempt to create their own creative works within each genre, while also studying textual examples from past and present authors working in each field, by examining their work from a mechanical standpoint, as opposed to literary analysis.
**Introduction to Literature** (possible Spring/Summer 2006 teaching assignment – Syllabus Accepted): This course covers an overview of the literary cannon, pulling examples from each period and genre, using a historical/chronological methodology to relay a general understanding of literature from William Shakespeare to Raymond Carver.
Freshman Composition I/1301: Students begin in this course by learning the basics in terms of how to write a clear concise essay. The focus of this course covers grammar, an understanding of audience, tone, and an essay’s structure.
Freshman Composition II/1302: Students learn how to construct a classical argument by incorporating the elements of ethos, pathos, and logos. In addition, students learn how to cite information using parenthetical citations, and bibliographic references.
