WORK EXPERIENCE
Rexford Development, Inc. (formerly TDG -The Development Group) Mason, Ohio
President September 1994 -present
Note: Due to nondisclosure agreements with several customers, I am unable to list the company names associated with some of the projects listed below. Some of the projects to date include:
Technical Leader for Provident Banks accounting conversion project. As part of a merger with National City Bank, Provident Banks leasing company is converting to a new accounting system. This requires the development of several interfaces from the new system to various National City systems. My responsibilities include, providing technical leadership to the developers, analysis and design of new interfaces, and various development activities. This work is being done using Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Data Transformation Services, and Microsoft Reporting Services. Provided management, design and development expertise as project manager/leader (managing up to 14 developers) for LanVision, Inc. developing their medical document management system. At the peak, I was responsible for managing the software development and support of 15 separate LanVision products. In addition to the management responsibilities, I was also responsible for: -Creation of two products, ADTLite and CodeLink, utilizing a combination of .NET (c#) technologies including Windows forms, web services, and ASP.NET web pages.
-Development of the FSBridge, a .NET based web service used to connect accessANYware, the LanVisions java based software, to the Foundation Suite, a set of business logic components implemented in COM. This enabled the java team to work strictly in java and eliminated need for c++/JNI development.
-Design and development (using c#) of a text & image viewing component for FolderView, their most recent business office application,. -Assisting with the design and development of accessANYware, the java based client component of their medical document management system.
- Developing several key components of the Foundation Suite, the middle tier of the LanVision n-tier client/server environment, utilizing Visual C++, multi-threading, ADO and ODBC database access, MTS, COM/COM+ and DCOM. Components included a service manager, a scheduling manager, printing & faxing services, import file conversions, and optical system integration. Additionally, I provided advanced diagnostic support for their middle tier software. This required the development and use of various specialized diagnostic tools and utilities.
Designed and developed a software system for LEXIS-NEXIS (L-N) to allow customer documents to be automatically encrypted and uploaded from the customer site to L-N. Once uploaded, the application processed the file information and placed it into an Access database. The files were then automatically decrypted and converted from their various formats (Word, Excel, etc.) into a L-N proprietary format. The core software was developed using Visual C++ (MFC, ATL, ActiveX) including the encryption routines which utilize the Blowfish encryption algorithm, FTP file transfers (using WinINet), custom flat file management, and the customer side application. The remainder of the application (the L-N side) was developed in Visual Basic utilizing the above developed C++ ActiveX components, DAO for database access, and Office Automation to convert the various documents. Design and development of an electronic component automated ordering system using Visual Basic, and Visual C++ (using MFC and DAO). (Client Confidential). Project involved reading order information from a handheld scanner using a third party interface API, processing that data using dynamic data definition business rules, and writing the processed data to a database.
WORK EXPERIENCE (continued)
Design and development of the user interface and database for the proof of concept of a three-tier business tax system for the State of West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue. Design and development of a set of applications utilizing advanced SQL for a Sybase database on an RS6000 to customize a DBS order management/accounting system for Mosler Inc. Designed and developed additional application specific database tables. Design and development of a demonstration version of a pen based client/server medical system. (Client Confidential) Design and development, using C++ and MFC, of a custom coupon generation DLL and an associated test/sample program for MediSpan Inc. Redevelopment of and additional capabilities added to the application used for the creation of coupons. Using C++ and MFC this previously developed sample/test program was turned into a fully functional production application. Development of a custom reporting tool in C++ & MFC of a sophisticated automated control system editor for Eaton IDT. Extracted necessary information from the associated database. Creation of a product cataloging system in C++ compatible with both the Macintosh and Windows utilizing an object oriented database for GE Capital. Created Windows DLLs to interface the database with the user interface which was written using MacroMedia Director. Created the product search routines including the C++ development of a dynamic allocation b-tree array for rapid searches. Access Corporation Cincinnati, Ohio
