management for development and release for a number of critical
enterprise middleware and database applications, including power grid
server, a massively parallel decision support-business intelligence
database query appliance; object-oriented Java™ and CORBA® technology
development applied to highly scalable, fault tolerant, enterprise
business servers; and platform enhancement program resulting in
overall middleware performance improvements.

Direct development and support of highly available, highly scalable
computer systems for critical business transaction applications such
as OLTP servers used in 90% of the world's stock exchanges. Supervise
multi-disciplinary architectural teams, as well as junior program
managers, providing training, mentorship, guidance, and career
development. Conduct sponsor coordination and alignment, critical
path analysis, dependency management, and risk and issues management.
Negotiate technology-licensing agreements for standards-based
middleware applied to systems. Develop process improvements for
earned value analysis, critical chain management, schedule
predictability, and defect removal practices.

* Managed 20-member, 2.5-year project to develop and release Port
Java "HotSpot" technology to MIPS processor representing 200%
improvement in cost and schedule control.

* Rescued troubled database program: 100-man, 1.5-year program to
deliver massively parallel database application to achieve first-ever
product delivery ahead of advertised release date.

* Reduced estimated costs from $3.6M to $2.4M for the merger of two
programs where one operating system was ported to the other's
enterprise business operating system on MIP-based product.

(Science & Technology Defense Contractor) 6/1983-9/1999

Advanced into positions of increased responsibility for this defense
contractor providing advanced science and technology services to US
national security customers and US government agencies for a wide
range of programs involving information technologies, advanced
modeling and simulation, systems integration, and software
development at worldwide installations.

Vice President, Division Manager (7/1995-9/1999)

Managed $5M services division with oversight responsibility of
ground system electronics and avionics support at Air Force base
until the base's closure. Reviewed projects for financial feasibility
and developed procedures for establishing costs and improving
predictability in project plans and profit. Successfully directed
team of 65 diversified professionals to Software Engineering
