Additional Information:
Consolidated tooling, and standardized programming and setups for 20 CNC machines; 25% reduction in setup times shop-wide, 50% reduction in permanent tooling, 10% reduction in scrap
Wrote software to automate CNC program creation. Fill-in-the-blanks approach allowed unskilled personnel to generate programs, tool/gage lists, and inspection sheets. Eliminated programming errors, reduced time from print to production by 90%
Parametric programming: consolidated 80 parts into 1 CNC program, reduced standard setup at each of 4 swiss machines to under one hour, reduced setup scrap by 80%
Implemented in-process inspection methods and documentation; resulted in a permanent 75% shop-wide reduction in scrap.
Zero-based spending resulting in 40% reduction in cost vs. budget in perishable tooling, durable hardware, and measuring tools.
Developed tooling control system and setup kits. On-hand tooling reduced by over 30%, setup times reduced over 40% shop-wide.
New machine tool purchases: Justified 3 machine tool purchases, managed delivery, tooling purchases, and machine setup. Two to four days from delivery to full production of new product lines.
