Total Retirement Outsourcing (TRO)
TRO application is web application for different retirement solutions (Defined benefits, Defined contributions plans). Application can be accessed through three channels – web interface for participants of organization, alternate access interface for administrator and PSR (Participant Support Call Representative). Benefit Estimate, Start Benefits, View Personal Information, and Benefit Statement are the major functionalities provided to the end user. These modules were developed as actions using the Struts based framework. The pension benefit calculator logic was implemented as a webservice that was also accessed by other applications of Citi Street. The application included other utility components such as caching, user authentication, client specific configuration, data source management and related services.
Responsibilities:
• Involved in the system analysis, design, and development and testing of Benefit Estimate, Start My Benefit, Personal Information modules.
• Involved in LLD, Project Plan, System & Integration documents.
• Involved in designing and implementing the caching functionality.
• Worked on generating the web services classes, WSDL using Apache Axis.
• Designed and implemented the database using ER diagrams. Wrote Java stored procedures and used JDBC APIs to call these procedures.
• Involved in unit integration, bug fixing, acceptance testing with test cases, code reviews.

Worked as a J2EE developer at ING Bank for their treasury management portal known as Cashpro web. Cashpro web treasury management portal is used by ING Bank corporate customers and financial institutions for all treasury activities like wire transfer, foreign exchange settlement, card services, direct deposit services, receivables and payables management.
Cashpro web is Single Sign-On enabled and all the development is done using Java/J2EE standards. Worked as a developer to upgrade two of their applications from Websphere 4 to Websphere 5. This technology upgrade uses features of J2EE such as message driven beans and JMS. Was responsible for designing, coding and unit testing the applications. As part of the upgrade process, I also created design to move the backoffice pages of the application into the application WAR file using Struts .
Was part of the development team responsible for creating a system-to-system interface between two applications using Websphere MQ and JMS. I also created specification of a web service (WSDL document) to fetch live foreign exchange rates.

PCA Advisor Workbench
The project is a Java/J2EE based B2B/B2C insurance based portal. PCA Advisor Workbench (PAW) is a web-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution for insurance companies. PAW based portal help streamline operations, improve customer relationships, and increase top-line revenue. It includes full-featured contact, calendar, opportunity management, marketing and customer service features. It offers targeted industry functionality, including support for multi-carrier insurance products, investment and annuity tracking, commission and compliance tracking, new business/pending case processing, financial data feeds etc. Also the software is designed to assist the insurance agents in increasing their marketing, sales, and customer servicing capabilities by aiding them in - managing their time, organizing client information (files, letters, and notes), generating policy and investment portfolio reports, and identifying the best opportunities through database marketing.
The project consists of various modules developed with respect to the insurance industry. I was involved with the design and development of ‘quotation and proposals’ module for the above portal. Various policy types (Life, DI, Annuity, LTC, Medical, Home Owner, Auto, Umbrella and other policies) were considered. The portal involves generation of spreadsheets for all the above modules. The spreadsheet invoked here are basically through Java XML-API's. Implemented search facility for fetching group policy records and customization features for selecting desired columns.
The system is a client server environment, which uses J2EE, based server in a distributed environment. The server side architecture provides for extensibility, flexibility, scalability, redundancy, clustering and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Worked as a module designer and developer to code in Java J2EE technologies in Quotation and Proposals Module.
• Extensively used various J2EE technologies - EJB, Servlets, and JAXP. Was responsible for designing the tables in database for quotation and proposals module.
• Prepared detailed Use Case Features from Specs.
