Objective:
Returning to purchasing in either a Senior Buyer or Manager position.

Experience:
I have extensive purchasing experience. Over the past 20 years I have consistently reduced inventories and produced significant cost reductions. I have had formal training in negotiating. For 11 years I was employed by a multi-national manufacturing corporation in planning and executing purchases that supported both domestic and off-shore locations. For the last 12 years I have been the sole purchasing agent for a computer reseller. Combined I have over 20 years of experience in facilities purchasing as well. PeopleSoft, Macola, and Great Plains are the most recent MRP/ERP systems I have experience with.
While at Sayers Computer Source I managed a purchasing staff of two. There I managed an inventory that supported a $6,000,000.00 account that required shipment within 24 hours. I was able to reduce inventory by 70% without effecting customer service. Old inventory was either sold outright, or bartered for other product. I was able to return to the corporation over a million dollars in the past 5 years.
At Northern Telecom I planned and purchased all of the material for the central office subbing line. That included all: stampings, plastic molding, finishing, test fixtures, fasteners, cable and wire assemblies. I increased turns on that line from turning every 22 days to turning every 4.5 days. My responsibilities ran the gamut from product planning through final QC. At one point I managed the $8.2 million dollar plant rebuild, which included monitoring the compliance on 52 separate contracts.

Education:
BS in History with an Education minor.

Skills:
Sourcing, vendor certification, production planning, contracts, inventory reduction, MRO and IT experience. I have created my own reports using several programs. I have used several MRP/ERP systems.
