1981-2002 MS Diversified Corporation Ridgeland, MS Systems Analyst, Programmer/Analyst, Night Operator -Began as night operator – 5 months later they created a fulltime programmer position for me. -Commended for rapid learning of credit life and extended warranty applications within 1st 6 months; promoted to programmer/analyst -Personally performed analysis, design, programming, testing, debug, and installation of following systems from scratch: Fixed Assets, Central Supply, Accounts Receivable, Consumer Loan application (for use in uploading pc data from 32 statewide loan centers and producing consolidated reporting for management on mainframe side) -Analysis, design, code, debug, and install of components to existing user applications so as to constantly create viable time- saving options for users -Worked closely with users to identify and resolve their problems/needs; worked as needed with accounting personnel to resolve balancing issues regarding A/P, G/L, A/R, Credit Life and Extended Warranty. (Example: g/l monthly trx edit list out of balance consisting of credit life summarized entries; would work through detail and resolve differences working closely with accounting personnel). -User applications worked with over a 20-year period (which I had to learn inside out and work extensively with users on a day to day basis) include: credit life insurance, extended service contracts, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, central supply, consumer loans, installment loans. Responsible for creating laser checks for our accounting department to use in the A/P system and later payroll checks and direct deposit vouchers. One subsystem of this was creating a ‘checking account’ program that contained all of the variable data needed to produce the check face such as logo, account name and address; microcode for routing, account, and check numbers, etc. This file also contained initials of management with signature images on file and allowed A/P users to designate up to 3 amount levels to use in combination with the signature images. When creating the A/R system, I interfaced it with the A/P system so as to allow A/R system to generate A/P vouchers for those with a credit balance on A/R statements while allowing users to maintain control of checks to be actually cut. Bottom line—authorized users were able to control the laser check functions with limited IT intervention as needed. -Developed a control program for authorized A/P users to enter vouchers, print edit trx list, pre-check report, cut checks, and then check register. They could not proceed to next step in process unless they were in balance. -Only IT associate allowed to work with sensitive payroll information in conjunction with the Human Resources department to produce W2s, 1099s, and/or when individual records had problems. Also produced and sent W2 and 1099 data to IRS and Social Security, along with associated forms and tapes/cartridges, on yearly basis. -Integral part of conversion from Data General to IBM mainframe environment 1984-85 -Assisted in all phases of conversion regarding programs and files -Assisted in data conversions from other companies purchased: Andrew Jackson Life, First Financial Life-life and casualty, United Service Protection-extended service contracts -Worked extensively with MS Excel to upload/download files between pc and mainframe
