ć Senior Manager: Head of Local Switch Network Provisioning. Created Local Switch Network Provisioning Group to maintain and migrate all Interconnect data from XL spreadsheets into a true provisioning database system. Migrated all MFS Intelenet, Brooks Fiber and MCI Metro Interconnect information into one system. Group was responsible for data entry, all tracking, capacity management, circuit design engineering, partial Translations, Test & Acceptance and closure of all Local Switch Network orders. Knowledge of all types of COLO handoffs, whether virtural or physical. Worked with all LEC's on Interconnect troubles, designs, agreements, capacity, etc. Reported directly to V.P. level management with responsibility for group cost center number and a budget of over 3.5 million. ć Telcordia: Group responsible for registering CLLI codes for entire company, Local and Long Distance, using CLONES (Telcordia's on-line system). Accountable for filtering all communications from Worldcom through Telcordia including NC/NCI, CLLI, CLFI and other Common Language trademarks. ć Trainer: Train Managers & Employees in switch and network provisioning, database operations, switch engineering application rules, and guidelines for all switches in our network. ć Network Grooms/Optimization: Re-route DS0, DS1, and DS3 traffic and transport facilities to attain optimal network performance and cost savings. Develop and implement plans to optimize our local networks by grooming, and decommissioning switch systems utilizing switch read/write access through software and updating our various provisioning databases after physical completion. ć Project Manager: Participate in or conduct weekly conference calls with Traffic Engineering, Planning, Translations, Facility Engineering and other various groups in order to effectively track and implement new interconnect requests, co-location builds, switch implementation or decommissions, switch rehoming and grooming, along with daily activity. ć Capacity Reporting: Analyze and report DS0, DS1, and DS3 capacity related to the Local Switch Network and distribute this data to various departments.
WORLDCOM/MFS Telecom, Oakbrook, Illinois Senior Circuit Design Engineer (July 1993 to 1997)
ć Senior Circuit Design Engineer: Engineered On Net or Off Net Customer and Network circuits from DS0, DS1/VT, DS3/STS1, OC3, OC12, OC48, etc. Loaded and connected all transport facility topology into database. Have extensive knowledge of most modern transport equipment and configuration capabilities in a Local Network. Responsible for first 3 x 1 dacs cut at MFS Telecom. Rolled all MUX traffic in the San Francisco main CO into a 3 x 1 dacs and removed all muxes in a five phase approach.
