Experience:

restaurant depot(jetro) in melville ny/pompano fl
February 1995 to July 2005
When I started with this company ten years ago, 'cash and carry' was a new concept in the wholesale food industry. It quickly proved to be a viable and necessary business for owners of restaurants, pizza parlors, delis, basically any food establishment within a 25 to 40 mile radius. After working there ten years, I accumulated many 'hats'. I was the cashroom manager. This involved being responsible for over $1 million per week in cash, checks and credit cards. Making sure everything balanced and was accounted for. I was also the administrative assistant, paying bills, making schedules, new hire paperwork, doing payroll, etc. In a company of just under one hundred, that position did not deem necesarry a full time person. I also asisted in inventory control. The entire stores inventory turned over monthly, so there was a very active product flow to keep track of. But the best part was dealing with customers who are not from your typical base. They are hard working restauranteurs who have specific needs and no time to waste. They want to get their product as quickly and as cheaply as possible, and that is what this business, and myself, provided.
