Dear Selection Committee:
Supplying a broad-based background and diverse success spearheading operations and security in a military environment will enable me to fulfill an Executive-level Security Management position in both corporate and government arenas. Providing your organization with expertise in Physical Security, Electronic Security Systems, Asset Protection, and Risk Management will undoubtedly facilitate your visions of organizational growth and stability.
A seasoned management career with the military has enabled me to refine extremely valuable communications, documentation, training, expense administration, project management, and resource allocation expertise. Notable roles I have held include Operations & Security Officer (involving several high-visible and sensitive roles) and Security Specialist with The Adjutant General's Department of the Ohio Army National Guard and Plans, Operations, and Training Specialist with the 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment Headquarters. Please consider the following selected career highlights:
* Honored with "award of excellence" from National Guard Bureau Office of Electronic Security Systems Management for prudent utilization of technology and stewardship of total asset protection program to protect Ohio Army National Guard's tangible and intangible assets and for active involvement with safeguarding intellectual property, competitive intelligence, physical assets, personnel, and other agency business activities or functions. Only 15 state security programs were recognized out of 50 states and 4 territories. Security Program Manager, the OHARNG Security Program
* Developed cost effective and efficient budget and funding procedures for $900 million of assets and 10,647 soldiers, state, and federal employees in support of near- and long-range planning for security requirements (new construction, building upgrades), security system maintenance (129 weapons vaults, 2 ammunition and explosives supply points, closed circuit TV at high- risk facilities), for 78 facilities, 3 training sites, 2 rotary wing flight facilities, and 1 fixed wing flight facility. Security Program Manager
* Helped analyze, recommend, and develop national policy on security and anti- terrorism/force protection for implementation by National Guard Bureau to 50 states and territories by chairing National Guard Bureau Physical Security and Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Advisory Council. Also assisted in development of criteria, standards, and functional requirements to determine best technology available to meet numerous security applications faced among 50 states and territories by serving on National Guard Bureau Electronic Security Systems Advisory Council as physical security expert. Command Security Specialist
Extensive specialized civilian and military training, certifications, education and affiliations along with in-depth knowledge of security procedures, enforcement, communication, negotiation, and motivation techniques foreshadow my ability to lead effectively and enhance organizational progress. All of these combined traits will surely step to the forefront when collaborating with other divisions and agencies to answer the threats you may see in the future.
As there is considerably more to relate in regard to how my talents and comprehensive expertise and abilities will ensure advantages to your organization, I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you personally as the first step of a mutually beneficial alliance.
Sincerely,
James Vanas
