Objective: To pursue a position in the health care field that will increase my knowledge and expand my clinical experience in relation to my degree.
Experience: Internship: First level one of internship completed in pediatric teaching clinic setting. Working with diagnosis of sensory integration and autism. At the facility I wrote goals, implement treatments, performed assessments and evaluations, and wrote weekly progress notes. Duration of three months. Currently finishing second level one at a skilled nursing facility working with diagnosis decreased muscle weakness, CVA, arthritis, dementia, amputee. Duration will be 117 hours. At the facility I implement treatment, administer assessments, and assist in client's morning activities of daily living. Work: Held occupational therapy aid position from 11/21/02 - 12/16/02 working with a TBI diagnosis. I asisted client with planning and implementation of daily activities. Assisted client in running errands, maintaing monthly budget, and assist client in dealing with sustained injury. Currently working as a Rehabilitaion Aid for Progressive Alternatives, started 4/29/03 to present. I assist residents in daily hygiene care, implement rehabilitation programs, transer residents, maintain cleanliness of home, and document daily progress reports.
Education: Acquired general associates from Lansing Community College. Completed social work minor at Western Michigan University. Currently working on B.S. degree in occupational therapy at Western Michigan University.
Affiliations: Member of Western Michaigan University's Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key International Honor Society, and Dean's List. Member and Secretary of National Occupational Therapy Honor Society Pi Theta Epsilon. Member of the American Occuaptional Therapy Association.
Skills: I am CPR and Blood Borne Pathogen certified. Completed Health and Medications Day One. Currently attending Mandt training.
