Directed the value added functions of planning, distribution, transportation, forecasting and manufacturing planning for the global leader in manufacturing and distribution of electronic components for the automotive aftermarket. Integrated the supply chain systems of a major recent acquisition, from JDE software to BaaN Enterprise Planning. Developed and implemented KanBan system for global distribution network, reducing inventory by over $2 million. Created new Inventory and Demand Planning department in order to synchronize sales and operations planning with the replenishment process. Optimized distribution system by managing the move of a major finished goods warehouse thus centralizing customer services and transportation. Prepared projects for integrating Chinese Manufacturing into corporate infrastructure and set –up process for Import/Export Trade Compliance as well as C-TPAT. Direct the inbound and outbound transportation requirement for the premier boat manufacturer in the world. Hold responsibility for 20 manufacturing and parts facilities to insure the smooth global flow of products supporting KANBAN and JIT initiatives. Conduct contract negotiations for all modes of transportation. Developed routing guides for all facilities resulting in identifying primary and secondary carriers and optimizing service and cost. Operate a hybrid fleet consisting of owned and leased trailers. Work with contracted core carriers, sales, manufacturing and dealers to schedule and deliver boats and parts. Developed standard work procedures for the boat hauling team to insure accuracy and reliability for our customers.

Director of Logistics and Corporate Supply Chain 1997 - 2001
Held responsibility for all aspects of the global supply chain and managed the worldwide flow of marine products from the supplier to the customer. As a member of the senior staff, reported to the President of the Business Unit with responsibilities for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of a $800,000,000 company unit, resulting in the generation of a 20% operating profit. As team leader, successfully implemented a new order entry and warehouse management system. Improved supply chain cycle time by 20%, created a web base environment, and developed a new product planning process. Key team member in establishing requirements and processes for exporting from Mexico. Established a Trade and compliance group for the company. Maintained our obligations as importer of record needed to have reasonable care under the Customs Modernization Act. Positioned the company as a world-class importer and exporter. Developed logistics strategies to accomplish the cost effective and timely movement of gas and diesels engines from Poland and Mexico. Set up an on site foreign trade zone which reduced inbound international cycle time by three days and saving duty expense of almost $1,000,000. Utilizing Logility software, designed a new product forecasting process and established warehouses on Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), improving customer satisfaction level and Work in Process (WIP) turns by 50%.
Manager of Logistics and Materials 1996 - 1997
Directed the material planning of all inbound and outbound products, as well as consolidated the materials planning function with receiving and distribution to enhance the planning and communication of customer requirements. Team leader responsible for the development and implementation of Just in Time and Direct Delivery of components to Manufacturing. Developed direct delivery of raw work in process engine blocks, eliminating need for warehousing and reducing inventory by $7,000,000. Strengthened the Brunswick transportation council to leverage all Brunswick logistics operations, improved carrier rates, and provided a path to enhance product flow strategies throughout all companies. Reduced transportation costs as a percentage of revenues from 6% to 4%. This council was then utilized to support strategies during teamsters strike and ocean freight deregulation. The Transportation Council became a model for the development of a Procurement and Human Resources council. Consolidated multiple receiving and distribution locations into one facility, reducing operating cost, and improved planning. Eliminated private transportation fleet. Contracted this operation out to 3PL provider. This improved service and cycle times while saving $300,000 in annual transportation expense. Led Procurement to improve supplier relationships.
Manager of Logistics 1995 - 1996
Oversaw all raw work in process and the finished goods inventory and led a multiple warehouse operation, supplying finished goods and service parts to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and end customer markets. Designed and implemented a new warehouse layout to optimize storage and retrieval processes, resulting in annual warehouse cost savings of $200,000. Directed a team that developed and implemented a returnable package system that saved over $1,000,000 annually. Coordinated with suppliers, manufacturing, distribution, and customers to provide successful launch of this international reverse logistics program. Sold and built consensus for the elimination of Model Year. This deeply rooted process was successfully eliminated, resulting in major reduction of untimely obsolete inventory and the necessity to discount aged product.
