TROTTER MANUFACTURING, INC., Loves Park, Illinois 2004-2009 Production Supervisor Responsible for 2nd shift production, overseeing machining, inspection, shipping & receiving, and warehousing departments, hands-on supervision of 20 employees, with emphasis on safety and quality. Direct responsibility for the waste treatment system that was discharged to the city.
NORTHWEST PALLET SUPPLY, Belvidere, Illinois 2002-2003 Production Supervisor Responsible for 2nd shift production, including machining, assembly, quality and re-build departments. Co-ordinated and oversaw dock loading for next days shipments. Supervised a total of 35 employees.
GENERAC PORTABLE PRODUCTS, Jefferson, Wisconsin 1999-2002 Supervisor Responsible for multiple departments covering machining and assembly. Supervised 35 employees in the areas of rotary transfer machining, shaft machining, pump assembly and kit assembly.
Expanded management responsibility from two to four departments by utilizing lead workers to expand their daily responsibilities and take more control of daily activities. Lowered scrap and rework rates over 20% annually in machining department by training operators to follow quality procedures, anticipate tool wear and set-up on scrap parts. Developed procedure for following selected qualities of raw parts upon receipt through all processes on first day, eliminating down the road problems. Process resulted in lowered failure rates and was incorporated as permanent departmental procedure. Realigned department lines reducing multiple set-ups, anticipated future demands and retrained workers for effective placement. ROCKFORD POWERTRAIN, INC., Rockford, Illinois 1998-1999 Production Manager Supervised 32 union employees in the areas of heat treat, inspection, CNC lathes, grinders, deburring, and other machine operations. Managed numerous departments on 2nd shift covering one-half of the shop.
Maintained satisfactory production rates while minimizing manpower by utilizing forecasts and production schedules to plan smooth work flow. Doubled the number of departments supervised when transferred to 2nd shift allowing two supervisors to cover plant instead of the previous four.
