This Is Were I Learned To Weld With Wire (Mig). I Worked Here Until New Management Laid Almost All Of Us Off. Welder Phillips And Son Welding In Abilene, Texas July 1976 To August 1982 I Assisted Other Welders In Constructing Drilling Rig Substructures And Derricks, Along With Mud Pump Skids And Doghouses. After A Two Year Apprenticeship I Was Promoted To Lead Welder On Subs And Rig Welder, Where My Responsibilities Were To Oversee Construction Of Substructures, And To Go To Location And Make Rig Repairs As Needed. Welder/ Fabricator Phillips And Son Welding In Abilene, Texas July 1990 To November 1994 I Came Back To Phillips And Son To Manage The Shop And Also Make Field Repairs. We Were No Longer Building Rigs, It Was Just A Job Shop.
