An experienced Supervisor and manager of Production and Maintenance departments with a broad base of manufacturing experiences spanning over 20 years, a Technology Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, additional training programs knowledge of WHMIS and PM, to work through the challenges of manufacturing, to be proud of a success full out come, leading to the following selected accomplishments.

• Planned and Supervised the complete rebuild of a $5 MIL furnace by creating a flow chart, breaking down the work into individual tasks and completion times, adding in all labor and materials and assembling the team involved in the project.
The furnace was rebuilt on time and under budget.

• Coordinated and set the priorities to resume production.
After a summer shut down it was typical to have a large number of production issues on start up. The day before start up I arranged to have some set - up technicians come in and test run all of the machinery. I then arranged to have extra coverage on start up.
Production issues were at a minimum; Senior Management was impressed and said that it was their best start ups ever.

• Developed and posted confined space polices to meet Provincial H & S regulations.
Set up outside training, identified all requirements for the specific machinery, and developed the documentation required.
Met the ministry’s requirements and ensured a safe work environment

• Created an overtime equalization system within my department to reduce employee complaints of favoritism.
Using documentation designed to keep track of all hours, I kept track of all overtime hours asked and posted this information so all could see, making sure it was fair and correct.
All employees were happy that this issue was cleared up and handled fairly for all concerned.

• Established and created the preventative maintenance program for over 200 pieces of machinery and all supporting equipment.
Using an Excel spreadsheet I developed a time line, and then created spread sheets for each unit detailing what must be done during each event. Each P.M. was then entered into MP2
All planned maintenance activities were now clearly organized and scheduled, and unscheduled downtime was minimized.

• Discovered and repaired the Line 11 belt return failure which had shut down all production.
I used a major breakdown investigation form, to assemble a team and find the root cause of the break down.
We discovered that it was the process water that was not being treated properly which caused the failure and required the establishment of a new water treatment supplier to prevent a reoccurrence.
