(Engineering Consulting), Denver, Colorado Potassium Chloride Production • Evaluated the design of boil-ups for de-bottlenecking a potassium chloride salt production process. • Designed shell and tube heat exchangers, centrifugal pumps and process storage tanks. • Developed detailed calculations, specification sheets and instrumentation lists for cost estimating purposes.
Alum Manufacturing Plant Construction • Assumed key role in the engineering design and cost estimating of a $4.5M grassroots aluminum sulfate plant. • Developed Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment lists and specification sheets for the process equipment, including specialty equipment to handle corrosive sulfuric acid. • Updated the Hazardous Materials Management Plan, Hazardous Materials Inventory Sheet, Site Health and Safety Plan and Material Safety Data Sheets. • Evaluated compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements for the construction contractors, equipment vendors and other service providers.
Environmental Compliance • Managed a $400,000 project for upgrading emissions control equipment to treat acid mist from a ferric sulfate reaction. • Led the permit application submission efforts for a Standard Air Permit with the State of Texas. • Conducted an on-site Motion and Time Study to measure work and standardize routine operator tasks.
Liquefied Natural Gas Plant Construction • Customized a web portal using MS SharePoint to improve document control. • Wrote Document Control Procedures • Edited Engineering, Procurement and Construction documents. • Prepared community affairs presentations • Developed local and international labor analyses • Determined approximately 100 applicable permits for construction of the plant and upstream facilities.
Water Treatment • Designed systems for treating process and utility wastewater for a pharmaceutical company. • Developed Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, specifications and datasheets for process equipment. • Evaluated technical bids for all new unit operations. • Maintained the Project Safety Plan and Activity Hazard Analyses for all field activities.
Ethanol Plant Construction • Improved document control for the construction of an 80 MGY fuel grade ethanol production plant. • Structured an on-site filing system for all as-built and issued for construction drawings during the initial phase of construction.
Site Remediation • Supported field measurement activities at superfund sites. • Surveyed extent of buried munitions debris at an Unexploded Ordinance site. • Investigated landfill site-wide water levels for the potentiometric surface figure. • Detected radioactivity of Radium-226 removed asphalt. • Maintained field records and verified hazardous radiation restriction limits prior to shipment.
Laboratory Technician (Contract Position) September 2006 – November 2006 Outlast Technologies, Inc. (Outdoor Apparel), Boulder, Colorado
