Objective:
I am interested in pursuing an opportunity in the food sector and specifically plant management. I have a thorough understanding in areas such as: HACCP, Safety, Quality, Production, Warehousing, Shop Floor Controls, Continuous Improvement, and KPI’s to name a few. I believe my extensive food manufacturing, and multi-plant operations management experience would be an asset to your operation and employees. I am looking for a stable company and have never left a position except for promotion, divestiture, or downsizing. I am more than willing to relocate with no specific preference.

POWER PACKAGING INC., Chicago, Illinois 2006 – 2009
Director of Operations - Performance
Developed, analyzed, and adjusted operations to increase performance metrics at seven contract manufacturing facilities including safety, production, employee development, and cost savings for international branded food companies. Scope: 2000 hourly employees and more than $600 million in annual revenues in both union and non-union environments. Directed the Corporate Safety program, conducted audits, set KPI goals and ensured OSHA compliance. Created and implemented Safety policies and procedures across the organization. Troubleshot and solved on site operational issues at each facility.
* Stabilized, reorganized and directly managed two production facilities while searching for new plant managers.
* Spearheaded work stoppage contingency plan at the Canadian bottling facility resulting in temporary employees setting 2 production records while maintaining quality standards and zero accidents.
* Conceptualized and launched shop floor control initiatives such as Zero Based Analysis, DMAIC process and visualization tools. Achieved a 6% increase in efficiencies.
* Reduced OSHA case rates from 10.82 to 2.48 in a 2 year period as Corporate Safety Coordinator.
* Led the safety program to a 44% reduction in recordable injuries in 12 months.

TYPOGRAPHIC PRINTING, Columbus, Ohio 2001 - 2006
Owner, Plant Manager
Developed and managed strategic company plans working through the effects of September 11, 2001. Successfully launched a strategy to proof, print, and mail critically timed political campaign pieces during the Presidential and Congressional elections. Managed all purchasing, supply contracts, building and equipment maintenance, production scheduling, Human Resources, quality control, processes and procedures, safety, government compliance and reporting, Union negations, shipping / receiving, salary and operational budgets.
* Eliminated stripping department through automation, realizing hard savings of over $100,000 in labor reduction while greatly improving printing quality. Increased sales by over 35% and orders by 75%

AURORA FOODS INC., Columbus, Ohio 1997 - 2001

Directed and approved all operations at 10 processing facilities and six co-packers including purchasing, production control, quality assurance and inventory management for international consumer food company. Scope: 800 hourly employees in both union and non-union environments. Developed and administered operating budget and capital budget for Breakfast Division; controlled master cost sheets on all new and existing products. Interfaced with Sales, Marketing, Research and Development units regarding new product development and timing; liaison between corporate, co-packers and suppliers.
* Developed operational policies, procedures, production, and quality assurance standards during start-up of a new company in 1997.
* Spearheaded relocation of capital equipment to co-packers following purchases of Log Cabin, Mrs. Butterworth's and Duncan Hines; controlled $40 million relocation budget and completed all projects 100% on plan.
* Acquisition Team Member; sourced production sites, co-packers and suppliers; negotiated agreements; performed vendor evaluations.
