Customized a web portal to improve document control for confidential Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Production client (November 2008 to July 2009). Also responsible for writing Document Control Procedures and editing Engineering, Procurement and Construction documents, which included Exhibit A for contractor scope of work, Facilities Design Basis, Engineering and Interface Management Plans. Also involved in community affairs, labor analysis and ascertaining applicable permits for construction of the new LNG plant and upstream facilities.
Facilitated a remediation project of former oil field sites in mid-Michigan for an oil services client (October 2008). Mapped flow lines and sucker rod lines from abandoned 1930s oil wells using GPS software. In charge of removing and testing soil for crude oil contamination.
Provided engineering services for the design of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) to treat process and utility wastewater for a pharmaceutical company (February 2008 to August 2008). Assisted an engineering team in developing and modifying P&IDs, equipment specifications and datasheets. Assumed key role in the engineering design and cost estimating of a $4.5M grassroots aluminum sulfate plant for a water treatment chemical corporation (November 2006 to May 2008). Developed PFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists and specification sheets for the process equipment, including specialty equipment to handle corrosive sulfuric acid as well as working on the Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP), Hazardous Materials Inventory Sheet (HMIS), Site Health and Safety Plan (SHSP), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Assistant lead in the procurement efforts. This included ensuring compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements for the construction contractors, equipment vendors and other service providers.
Evaluated the design of boil-ups for de-bottlenecking a potassium chloride salt production process (May 2007 to August 2007) as part of a project for a chemical subsidiary company. Sized centrifugal pumps, shell and tube heat exchangers and process storage tanks. Developed detailed calculations, specification sheets and instrumentation lists for cost estimating purposes.
Improved document control for the construction of an 80 MGY fuel grade ethanol production plant (June 2007). A comprehensive filing system was developed on-site for all issued for construction drawings during the initial phase of construction.
Supported field measurement activities at a superfund site (May 2007 to September 2007). Activities included using an electronic water level indicator to measure site-wide water levels for the potentiometric surface figure, use of a smear counter to measure radioactivity of removed asphalt, maintaining field records and verifying hazardous radiation restriction limits prior to shipment.
