Skills: I am proud to say I have consistently “raised the bar” in the positions I have held. I work extremely well with diverse, forward thinking and at times challenging board and staff members and volunteers. As an executive director and development professional I have always built upon and valued the best of the “past” while developing or enhancing programs, acquiring resources and implementing new projects. I directly led and have been involved with all areas of non-profit organizational management including short term planning and strategic planning and budget and board development. While nurturing private and public resources for sustained and long-term support, I have worked on and directed almost all areas of fund development including special events, public and private grant development and acquisition, planned giving and direct mail.
For over ten years at the American Lung Association of Florida as the CEO and Executive Director I addressed the mission by developing a passionate, dynamic team of dedicated board members, staff and community volunteers. Working with the board and staff we created visionary, yet realistic plans with measurable goals and built strong, long-term relationships with many community stakeholders. This included a diverse array of donors, business and political community leaders and partners who, over time, supported and believed in the mission of the organization.
In 2007 I was asked by FoundCare, to serve as their Chief Development Officer. After my first year I realized that though I am a “seasoned” development professional, my skills would be better and more fully utilized if I once again were working in a CEO/ED role that encompassed fund development, agency oversight, board development and program design and implementation. In 2008 I was recruited to serve as the CEO of the Child Life Institute; but due to a reorganization and consolidation, bringing the organization under another non profit there was no longer a need for a CEO.
I know my leadership and management skills, passion for service and commitment to this community make me an excellent candidate for the position of a non profit Executive Director, non profit consultant and trainer or as lead officer with a foundation or government agency.
