Additional Information: Please consider the enclosed resume an application for a legal position. I recently received my J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law and took the Tennessee Bar Examination. I am eager to begin my legal career in Nashville where I will be able to utilize my legal skills and experience new challenges and opportunities.
Evidence of my leadership skills are shown through the responsibilities I’ve had in my law school career and my commitment to academics. My high level of concentration and excellent organizational skills enhanced my research, organizational skills, initiative, and communication ability in a manner which reflects my diligence and commitment to success.
During law school I’ve gained a solid background in legal research and writing and a strong foundation in legal concepts and analysis. During my third year, I interned for the Mississippi Secretary of State in which I was involved in many different areas of law, with a concentration in election law. I have also interned for the Hinds County Public Defender’s Office in Jackson, Mississippi where I dealt with incarnated clients firsthand. An internship with the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office in Chattanooga allowed me to assist attorneys with a challenging second degree murder trial. These internships have allowed to me to analyze legal issues in election law while gaining familiarity with the courts and refining my legal writing skills.
I genuinely enjoy the study and application of law and appreciate the rewards of hard work. I would contribute the same hard work, dedication and enthusiasm to any firm in which I am employed. I know that work within the law is prestigious and I promise to excel at my work if selected for employment. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how my education and experience will be helpful to you. I am available for an interview at your convenience. I can be reached at (423) 322-1089 or by email at adriennemaloney@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.
