Supplied project management techniques, for a large healthcare system in the Chicago area, implementing multiple facilities for STAR Patient Processing, Financial Clearance Workstation, Horizon Expert Documentation, Pathways Healthcare Scheduling, Horizon Passport applications.

Independent Consultant September 2003 – July 2004
Supplied project management and auditing skills to build the acquisition of a facility into existing 8.0 STAR Patient Care/STAR Financials/HOM systems. Provided a detailed analysis identifying issues the could arise when migrating the STAR ADT product to IDX LastWord and the de-installation of STAR Financials to SMS on a system maintaining the clinical systems on McKesson® software. Assessed and produced a needs recommendation for a hospital to apply 8.0 and Horizon upgrades to their existing 7.0 release system.

Senior Consultant Swish Corporation March 2000 – September 2003
Evaluated integrations billing issues between Quest reference laboratory, Pathways Laboratory and SMS AR Billing. Created and taught extensive technical Hospital Operational Training (HOT) courses, mentored information services users as well as providing remote support for multiple clients CPU’s, and responsible for system optimization and CPU performance improvements. Managed the installation of ADT, MR software conversions, application set up and procedures, in addition, served as resource for clients in analysis of data passing from McKesson® Patient Accounting system to the Trendstar system, contributing system maintenance, training and report improvements. Traditionally have assumed responsibilities for moving software upgrade and forms/menus creations, modifications as indicated by need or by new software installations.

McKesson (HBOC) multiple application module training, mentoring and remote support, assisted in multiple applications file conversions, system builds and system upgrades, creation of documentation to ensure proper knowledge transfer, system audits and performance improvements at multiple client sites. Assumed responsibility for the installation of the Patient Processing and Medical Records module for a five-facility hospital, also subcontracted as an Order Management installer for McKesson on numerous client accounts. Directed clients on the system build for communication with CIRTIX devices.

Interface Analyst St. Luke’s Hospital October 1980 – February 1998
Software analysis, installation, end user support provided for patient administration, medical records/transcription, order management, radiology, patient accounting, accounts payable, inventory, human resource, general ledger, and Trendstar support for five facilities. Played a key role in the rollout and installation of all conversions, masters, tables, port modification, interface line set up and all new software moved into the system as each new facility added. Directly provided the front line support for all product applications and further more implementation of any vendor resolution, including the Radiology module, also maintained and monitored all files passed via point-to-point and HL7 interfaces for HORIZON Order Management (HOM), Medical Records Dictation and Sunquest Lab. Assumed responsibility for all end user support, system software, files, reports following any and all facilities added and all hardware upgrades, supplied main system application support for all products from the conversions of Medstar through version release 7.0 and IFAS to Star Financials conversion and upgrades. Assured data and system integrity by the conversions performed on from three CPU’s (RX, CLN, and FIN) to one CPU. My positions held were PR Clerk, AP Clerk, Medical Physics Secretary, and Statistical Analyst with Marketing, I.S. Coordinator, and Interface Analyst.
