Objective: Executive Director of engineering in hospitality industry with 10+years hands on experience, experience in a high volume property, proven track record in hotel industry.
Experience: Possess a 10+ years hotel maintenance experience with 5+ years at a management level.Calgary Marriott Hotel, Calgary, Alberta Oversee the maintenance operations and upgrades for the exterior and interior facilities, including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, structural. Work in busy environment 384 rooms plus 10 suites. Smooth operation of Sauna, Swimming pool and exercise room. Regular maintenance on steam boilers, emergencies gas power generators and chillers. Maintains facilities and equipment by conducting inspections on a regular basis to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, and type of operation and maintenance personnel needed. Maintains logs and journals for all utilities; reviews meter readings and regulates controls. Controls staffing, scheduling, recruitment and training for all maintenance associates. Coordinates and planned- maintenance orders. Studies and becomes familiar with hotel policies and procedures relating to; fire and life safety, energy control and management. Best Western Hotel Port O’Call, Calgary, Alberta Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance operations and upgrades electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, structural, ground care and overall smooth operation within the hotel. Designs and supervises recycling programs. Controls staffing, scheduling, recruitment and training for all maintenance associates. Checks and monitors the completed work in order to ensure it is completed in accordance with Best Western standards of engineering. Completes preventative maintenance schedules for equipment in the major plant, air handling units and fans, pumps, automatic control systems etc. Ensures that equipment is operated effectively and efficiently by directing and supervising the operation of all running equipment. Work on renovation of 150 rooms and lobby, and public area investment worth $1, 5 million. Detects when plant or equipment needs repair, or when it is not economically justifiable to repair, by closely monitoring repair history of all major equipment. Monitors actual versus budgeted expenses and takes corrective action where required. Performs any technical emergency engineering repairs as required; informs immediate supervisor if other actions need to be taken. Commitment to developing team by conducting quarterly performance discussions, setting goals and reviewing educational requirements of all team members. Ensures that all applicable requirements are being compiled with by maintaining contact with local authorities such as fire brigade, electricity suppliers.
Education: Electronics and electrical equipment specialist. Experience in waste water treatment plants. Solid experience in diesel power generation plants Certificate for Installation and maintenance gas equipment. 4 & 5 class power mechanical engineer, Calgary, Alberta Canadian and Serbian citizen, multi language knowledge. Solar heating designer and system installer. Swimming Pool Operator certificate. Best Western, Housekeeping and maintenance global quality Assurance certificate. Marriott Calgary, Service Excellence certificate. Possess a 10+ years hotel maintenance experience with 5+ years at a management level. Exceptional organizational skills and very detail oriented. Proven Ability to be an effective leader for associates and management within a team environment. Ability to develop and implement annual budget and capital plans. Superior written verbal skills. Computer Hardware and software literate, Windows, Excel.
